Well it was confirmed yesterday that I made the correct decision for myself in choosing the SD ram air hood. I was driving to school and studying at the same time and I came up to a light. There was a red SC/T grand am across the intersection, some older aged guy was driving it and had a passenger with him. But as I am rolling through the intersection, I see him pointing at my hood and saying "that wasn't an option". hehee:)

I know in my area there are way to many of those packages running around. The one time I took my car into the shop for the infamous leaking gaskets, I counted 11 of the SC/T packages sitting on the lot alone.

So needless to say I am grateful that I have a less common looking ram air hood! I know there are a few of them roaming the Sterling Heights area. But none by me. Its great to be different sometimes!:)

Ask your girlfriend, she's the one plotting to steal it one day!:D

I actually had it painted by my uncle, who does a lot of fiberglass work on corvettes, so it came out great! Now it I could just see the original color sometime this winter, I will know if it survived! I have a two lane freeway rule, were I will not get near or pass a semi or gravel hauler unless I have two lanes seperation. Damn trucks kick up to many damn rocks!

Awesome! I've been pondering over which hood to get, I really think that the SD hood is gonna be my final choice. Just too many people have the SC/T hood. Reading your post only further helped my decision to get the SD instead!

i was really considering getting the sd hood, but im not sure, i really like the *** hood. The *** hood really goes well with the bodykit, but then again the sd hood is sweet too.

Those corvette guys know their stuff don't they! My dad did all the body work on his restored '73 convertible 'vette, and he showed me how to do all the prep work on my hood. We only needed to have him take it to his dealership for the final painting, which saved me big bucks. I also think the SD hood is the best looking one out there by far. It just matches the body lines. If only I could get one in carbon fiber.

On a side note, my parents just got a new 2003 yellow corvette convertible, and they said I can drive it! Maybe I'll bring it to a meet. lol
