I wonder how the kit is available in seperate pieces, when the actual kit hasn't even been shipped out to any of its recipients...

I guess the kit is inspected, checked for quality control, mass-produced and shipped much quicker if its sold in pieces rather than an entire kit...

I know you're frustrated - you send us emails constantly - but no, this is not true. I said they were available for ordering, not shipping. If you visit our site you will see that the pieces won't be available til next week, just like the coupe kits.

Again, I realize you're frustrated, but making comments like this and e-mailing us all the time won't hurry the kit up. We are 100% out of control of this delay, and we can either cancel your order and refund you in full, or we can just wait til it comes in and ship it. I'm not trying to sound mean, but you keep making remarks that make it sound like we are doing everything possible to keep your kit out of your hands, and that is simply not the case.

The page I'm referring to is here:

http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PFYC&Product_Code=GA1005&Product_Count=0&Category_Code=GAEXT

Notice the date of 3/12, the same date that we are expecting the coupe kits to ship out.

The post I made, was before you e-mailed me on the 3/12 date. I know you guys arn't tryin to not get the kit to me. I just haven't felt i've been told the full story from day 1. Thats all. But i'm just sticking to your word and waiting for a tracking number or a phone call for the price on the shipping COD.

What are you talking about? What story? Every single time you e-mail (sometimes multiple times per day!) we answer right back with ALL of the most up to date information that the manufacturer has given to us. What more do you want us to tell you?

I know you're anxious to get the kit but blaming us for "not telling you the full story from day 1" is not called for either! We are always very honest and forthcoming with all the information that we get from our multiple suppliers, and the very same goes for this case and for every single time you e-mail us with questions.

I didn't say you were an inconvenience. I'm just saying that your remarks make it seem like you think we are lying to you or trying to somehow fool you or keep your kit away, which isn't the case. The other customers waiting for coupe kits haven't gotten theirs, either. Not a single coupe kit has shipped yet.

I'm not intending to start an argument, so this will be my last post. If you feel the need to e-mail us again, we will respond courteously as always, and if not, you can expect to see your kit ship out next week.

Cheers and good night

I wonder how the lip or any other piece of the kit would look alone without the rest of the kit. This is good news. I was wondering if this would come true or not and it has.

I want the front and rear, but at the price of both, its just worth it to buy the kit, then sell the sides on here for 150 or 200.

Also, bmarks, anyway of getting a deal if i buy the kit plus hood? Its worth a try, I want to get it all at once so i get it painted the same time. If not ill prolly have to wait 3-4 months. =(

btw, you may want to change the Q & A since now you offer it bit, by bit.

Hi:

We have no deals going on right now, but we might think about it for the future. The SC/T kit is too new for a sale :)

I fixed the Q/A - sorry it wasn't fixed already. I asked someone to do it yesterday :(

No, but if you look carefully around the SC/T threads, you will find out who the supplier is. ;)

thanks so much for offering us the pieces seperatly. A little more expensive than I expected for the front piece (I was expecting about $225) but it is what it is!

I will be purchasing the front piece and possible the american eagle rims from you in the near future.

By the way, if I may go off topic for a second, Can I ask what the visual difference between the polished and chrome rims are? Is it hard to tell the difference?

Thanks again for your support to this community.

I'll help you out and save you some time bmarks,

The difference between polished and chrome rims are luster, upkeep, and weight. Polished rims will be lighter in weight than chrome, but will require more upkeep and won't shine as bright. Chrome shine's much brighter, but like I said, it is much heavier in relation to polished. Chrome rims must be waxed/polished as well, but are less susceptible to oxidation/cleaning fluids staining them/road salt or sand/etc. than a polished rim. However, both must be taken care of, it's just the polished need a bit more attention due to there "bare metal" state.

My polished Eagles were on the car for a bit of the snow we had here in MD because I never had a time or place to change them because of weather and cold. I finally got them off and it took me 1 night a piece to hand polish them with Eagle One Never Dull.

Polished wheels are known as "poor mans chrome". Most people can't tell the difference unless they get up close. I chose polished because they were cheaper, lighter, and like I said, most people don't know the difference.

bmarks

Very quickly to add to that (thanks for taking the time to help, Bob :) ) - according to AE, the chrome version of the same wheel weighs only about 1 lb. more than the polished version. I dare say that 99.9% of you are not professionally racing your cars on track and even if you were, the 1 lb. isn't going to break the bank. I ran very heavy (talking 10 lbs. more than factory EACH) wheels for several track weekends before I began noticing the difference in handling and feel of the car enough to where I needed lighter wheels.

I can also tell you that polished is a PITA to keep clean and looking good. Chrome is awesome because you can just let it go and it will polish right up to where it was before. I will, given the choice, always pick chrome over polished from now on after having had both.

I'll agree with bmarks. He isn't just trying to get you to spend the extra bills :D After having my 077's polished for a year now....if I were to do it all over again I would have gotten chrome. Polished wheels are a BIG, FAT, PITA!!!!

That's right. We never try and sell you something you don't need or don't want. When I bought my Corvette I got it with polished wheels from GM. They're beautiful, at the beginning, but begin scratching and are impossible to keep looking good.

I then got factory knock-off chrome wheels and they are the easiest to keep clean. I can let them get nasty with lots of dark (and heavy, from hard track use) brake dust, then they polish right up. I would never let polished wheels get that bad, because the dust can eat through the clearcoat and make a mess.

Just my experience.

wow, you guys drive a hard bargain :)

I wasn't going to spend the extra cash for the Chromies...cause I wanted the 18s....but.....damn, I already break my back trying to keep these damn chrometechs clean, is it as hard to clean polished as it is to clean the stock chrometechs?

Thanks for all the info, it helped alot!
