Need help from few of you who have painted interiors

I am in the process of painting my interior now with dupli color enamel paint. I was wondering which wont get scratched as much enamel or laquer. Also, to any of you who have your center console trim painted (Especially near the cupholders), does it get scratched a lot by cups and stuff or is it generaly ok, i dont want to have to repaint every few months, thanks.

cmon someone plz just tell me how well their paint holds up to scratches and if they used laquer or enamel

Clear coat it or it will scratch. There's a tech doc on N-Body.Net on this.

it all depends on how well u prep it. u gotta sand it down and clean it really well. paint in light coats and take your time, let them set up before u put another down. it should take some abuse, but not too much.

as far as your first question, i'm not sure.

i painted my center console and it does have a few scratches but i don't put stuff down there that often. i just use the cupholder behind the gear shifter. i've had it done since aug (i think) and it holds up pretty well. now that i think about i think i used enamel.

just make sure you put on a good amount of clearcoat and make sure that you let it dry thoroughly before putting it back in.

yah i have been taking my time a lot, I put 5 coats of clear on evrything i painted so far so i guess it will hold up well then, thanks guys

yeah i think 5 coats of clearcoat should do it, no problem.

I will post plenty of pics of my car around spring break time when all of my stuff is done. I am putting grafxwerks on, painting my interior, and doing red leds in the vents. It will all be done hopefully by mid april if im lucky.
