I dont know about the gp suspension, but I know that Ga's Handle Better. They are just smaller, and the lighter weight makes it handle better. Gp's dont handle all that well (but the gtp supercharger makes up for the poor handling!)

I've never heard of this. I'm not really sure if this would even be possible and if it was, I don't see any advantage and wouldn't consider it an upgrade.

My wife's '97 GPGT handles very well and that's with the stock Goodyear LS tires. I'm not sure where the opinion of GPs not handling well came from. Yes, a GA handles better but it's smaller, lighter, and has lower profile tires. I think the difference in ride quality is far greater than (and makes up for) the small difference in handling.

Changing a GA to a GP suspension would be a lateral move. I think the only difference would be the higher spring rates in the GP (because of the added weight) would cause the GA to sit higher. Too much fabriciation and moolah to be a feasible swap.
