I wanna get some vinyls for my car but just wondering how durable these things are.
Do they withstand automatic car washes?

I know its not the best to go through the auto wash, but I've done it a thousand times and my stuff is still alive and kickin

grafxwerks is my number 1 vinyl place to go to, but im sure any piece of vinyl might not withstand the heavy duty autommatic washing. i go to a 5 dollar wash in the winter and its pretty much a spray and soap type deal, and my vinyl has held up good from grafxwerks. i did notice that the places that have the brushes and heavy duty spinning cloths (dont know how to explain them), that spin around and wipe ur car as it goes through, might cause a problem to the vinyl. I guess just test out different places that you like best.

I have www.customgrandam.com vinyal and I have never had any problems, and I go thru car washes all the time... I never have time to do it by hand anymore... I am not advertising another place, but I hear that Grafxwerks is even better... but... I dunno...

I have had grafxwerks on my car for about 6 months now. There have been no problems what so ever with them coming loose. I think the biggest factor on them lasting long would be the installation part. You would want to make sure that your car is clean and dry; use alcohol to get any residue off; and make sure that you install them on a warm/hot day. The hotter the better because the vinyl will adhere better.

I bought mine from Reflective Concepts and they have been on my car for over two years. Vinyl should last around 5 years on a car... I know that Ryan's vinyl is just as good, if not better, than Reflective Concepts. I have samples of the vinyl Ryan uses and it's the same stuff, maybe a little thicker, but I can't say for sure. Anyways, unless you don't apply it properly then some parts will flake off. But, as long as you do a good job you don't have to worry.

I have some vinyl on my back window from Ryan that has been there since summer of 2001 and even after this harsh winter its still sticking. And I have a windshield banner from a local vinyl place for about the same amount of time, only I am on my 3rd decal. Serves me right for not using grafxwerks ;)
