SES light is on

As I was leaving work on Friday, the SES light can on. I checked the gas cap and noticed that it was loose (Stupid station attendant). I tightened the cap and have driven it the last 3 days yet the light has not gone off.

How long does it take for the light to go off once you tighten the cap?

the gas cap will not cause a ses light. However, it will turn on the svs light. maybe thats not your problem

Wrong, loose gas cap will trigger an SES not SVS.

I think it's 3 complete ignition cycles that the test has to pass before it goes away..

yeah it was the gas cap, take it to autozone just to make sure, though if it was the gas cap it was a soft code and has been deleted from the computer. Hope that is all it was good luck!
