Ok I have been thinking alot and coming up with other ideas for Carbon Fiber dress up parts. Please keep in mind these can be done in the very near future. Colored CF maybe an option.

Fuse Box Cover in the engine compartment (top left engine bay)

Serpentine Belt Guard (The peice the has the belt routing info on it) located on the left side of the engine just below power steering tank.

Interior Gauge Cluster Surround (yes, the peice that EVERYONE paints)

Stereo and Temp Control Surround (the other peice EVERYONE paints)

Any people interested?? Any other ideas??

(The fuse box idea was Spy's............)

Good stuff.

Except those with STB's can barely get the fusebox cover off as is now :/

I will be getting the gauge cluster surround done very soon for myself.:D

BTW this is the 10,000 post in all show.........sorry had to do this:boogie:

I could go for some colored CF engine bay dress up stuff. I'm sure prices would be reasonable for being quite a bit smaller than say a CF hood.

edit: <---600:D

I'd say a dash kit would compliment your car nicely. In my opinion, theres enough stuff in your engine compartment to drool over already lol

I saw a rolll of that carbon fiber stuff at Autozone and was thinking the same thing. But, I talked to Currie and he said that it won't stick to the rough surface. So, you'd have to probably sand it down. But, for the interior I have been toying with the idea.

Well actually I would have a mold made of these parts and anyone could buy these CF parts. The interior will be done, it's just a matter of $$$ now. I have to pay R&D costs and mold costs and part costs just to get these done. Then I can sell them to the public. So I recoup the cost I paid for having this made for the first time.

So the question is would YOU be interested??

100% real CF parts, not overlays, not imitation.

I see you want good stuff... Uhmm, well, I don't know... $$ is a big issue, If they're like $15-30 max then possibly. I would honestly have to see how it looks on our car in order to get an idea of if I'd like it.

Yes I am very interested in anything and everything you can come up with :)

I would like that thing that goes over the top of the entry area to the trunk when the back seats are folded down to be carbonfiber :)

IS this real carbonfiber coating or vinyl? RKsport makes a lot of neat carbon things for the cav and sunfier, so maybe that will give ya more ideas. I also hope their product line for us has some of the same stuff. :)

GrandGTR..........all 100% Carbon Fiber Twill, aircraft grade. I wouldn't put anything less on my ride.

Most cookie cutter CF parts are low grade, or what they call low thread count twills and cheap resins.

Well I am not sure of the difference, but my dash kit from dashboardsplus is great quality so whatever that is is fine with me lol. The vinyl "looks" good too though, but as nice but still looks good...

So do you have a website or soething and is this you saelling things or a company? just wondering about warranty and insurance...

Keep me posted...

Forget the interior and engine bay stuff. Carbonfiber needs to be out where people can see you got the stuff!:D I say side view mirrors and B-pillar covers (on the doors). That would look tight. And it would match the CF wing and front air splitter I'm planning on getting.;)

For a cost effective way of doing carbon fiber....has anyone ever thought about painting it on interior parts. Lemme explain:
I am into r/c cars, and a lot of people are painting carbon fiber hoods by using drawer liner (you know, that rubbermaid stuff). It has a checker board pattern to it, so what r/c people do is lay it over the area to be painted, spray black and let dry. Then you remove the drawer liner and spray the gray. Now obviously we cannot do exactly as the r/c people do because they paint the inside of the car.
We would have to spray the part gray and let dry, cover the piece in the drawer liner and spray the black. When you remove the liner, you have a carbon fiber looking piece. Some clearcoat and your done.

I hope this isn't toooo confusing and can be followed somewhat easily. Would this method work? I know it is not real carbon fiber, but it would be very cost effective:)

Why imitate CF whne the whole point of CF is to have the real thing:confused:

Also CF is not 2 different colors it is all the same grayish brown color. Because of it's metallic properties it refracts light differently on each part of the weave giving it the 2 color effect.

Here is a pic of some REAL CF samples from my composites guru (the guy making the CF hoods).

On the left is standard small stitch 3k Carbon Fiber (used for interior parts because of better flexibility)

On the right is the 3k herringbone or larger basket weave stitch (used for larger peices, hoods, fenders, etc.)

If you want to spend lots of money I know Fiber images made CF fenders, doors truck lid, the rear deck for the 6x9 speakers (only for certain cars) Those are just some ideas I can think of

Ice what do you all need?? PM me.

As far as fiber images..........I won't deal with them, big company politics always interfere with smaller projects like these. Besides I have already been in contact with them about making a hood and you see how far that got:rolleyes:

I am just to keep doing what I am doing get this stuff made and get it to you guys as cheap as possible, my profit will be just enough to cover the original mold and R&D costs.

So I guess from now on I can be called the CF_Officer....:boogie:

It would have been great if they could make the Hoods for the GA. I couldn't belive what I saw on their video of the hood test  Another company I can think of is Vis. not sure if it's all imports or not. Just to give you some ideas.

Yeah fiber images make some decent stuff.............I saw that video too.

VIS........what a joke, that company is the company I described in my post abovelol

I can get a CF hood for my Integra for $195 plus shipping from them on a groupbuy, granted it will only last 6 months:rolleyes:(VIS)

You have my money for that right away. ;)

rear deck piece for the 6X9s make that too!! and the center console! and and... ya know..

just start making the stuff.. You know I'll be more than happy to buy from ya. I just wish all this was done at the turn of dec/jan when I still had cash instead of right now when i'm drowning in turbo parts... :\

I can however spill some $$$ for the smaller c/f parts :) which would be no problem .. hehe

not sure.......i guess the mold was a bitch to make because GM put 80 or so useless holes on the underside of the hood. those had to be filled in and etc.

I plan on talking to the maker this afternoon since he is almost finished with mine to see what he projects as a price on these.

Mine has costed me more than the original $1200 already........extra R&D costs, revisions, material complications, etc.

I should have an idea soon...........I hope.

Would the CF Stereo Surround just be a cover, or the whole thing?
I got an extra stereo surround for a project. But it's already painted and I'm not sure if it will jive with an interior that isnt fully painted. I think carbon fiber would work with an un-painted interior though... so if its a cover you can probably put me down for one. :boogie:
