Mounting washer neons

I want to put 2 of those window sprayer neons under the hood and adjust them to glare out of the nostrils to match my neon underbody, does anyone know how i could go about mounting them, or is there anyone that has these???

im not sure those 2 little lights are gonna shine alot. why dont u just buy like a 10 inch neon and mount it that way. i have plenty of light from that.

I'd have to agree with UNC0 those lights your talking about dotn shine light they just project it into a straight beam. it would be like having two dots of light. IMO it would look kind of funny. As for the install how would you mount them? they are ment to be put into a hole, id imagine youd have to drill into the facia. it comes with the wires but youd have to splice different wires to the existing one to make it long enough to the battery. Now that i figured out how to post pictures heres one of my car with the neon.

where did you mount your blue neon and how difficult was the install on that?

if you take off the ram air shroud there is a lip inder there where i mougnetd them i used zip ties and zip tied em through a couple of holes in the frame work. I cant remember exactly but it was real obviouse (i didnt have to look very hard) to figure out where to put the zip ties. just a little adjusting to get the light bars centered right and up out of view. i used 2 small bars. I got em at target tehy are the indoor use kind but a little silicon and its all good. install was ok. trying to find a place to go through the fire wall to mount a switch was a challenge good thing i have skinny hands. :thumbs:

as for exact directions id have to ask my buddy he was the brains of the operation. or maybe UNC0808 could help you out. Ill post up a how to if i can or shoot you a PM or something. It took a while but its not hard and well worth the time.

EDIT---- Im working on the how-to thing I'm working like 35 hours a week plus i have no digi cma which makes pics hard to get. Ill post it up as soon as i can. feel free to PM every once in a while to make sure i dont forget. (I get side tracked easy) :rolleyes: :p

if u look down below the nostrils under the hood, u can see a black bar going across. not exactly sure what the purpose was but i drill 2 holes in it and the neon is mounted that way. it actually lights up more of the ground then through the grill, but when the lights are off and the neon is on, you can tell.

yours are on the bottom of the nostrils??? mine are up top it lights up all behind the grill and shines some light about a foto or foot and a half infront of the car on the ground.

i dont know about gt's, but with the se's if u look at the grill from the inside and look down about 6 inches, theirs a black bar. i mounted them there. its kind of hard to explain without a pic. doh!!!

i have the led washer neons in now and i dont like them they dont light up very bright, soon ass the weather breaks ill be going with small tube neons

yeah, thats how i attached my "nite rider" lights. I think that is the actual bumper. the outside painted part is just a bumper cover.

i have mounted a set on teh hood of my ga and everyone that has seen it wants to know how i did it i simply told them i drilled out the holes for them and installed them in the hood.. i have pics. on my website to show them.. also i have a quick question how do you put a pic. under your name on the side bars? thanks :)

What I suggest is to get a 12" Varad led tube. They are brighter than a neon tube. I think crutchfield sells them for cheap like 20-30 dollars. :cheers:
