I've been talking with Zsolt quite a bit in the past month about my impending purchase... yes, I'm going bOOst! I picked up some information that you wouldn't normally get by just reading RSM's description of the Vortech supercharger for the 3400 on their site...
- Firstly, when you order the kit, you can have the fins on the blower cut to be quiet or noisy (whining)
- The kit comes with a battery relocation tray
- The kit includes a tap and fitting to tap the oil pan
- You can order the SC to come with a polished aluminum finish for $400 extra
- All of the intake tubing from SC to TB is included with the kit
- The kit does not have a CARB number (EO)
- A reprogramed PCM is included with the purchase (another reason why the price is higher) and I assume that they could probably tweak a few things here and there according to your desires
- The kit also comes with an adjustable blow-off valve
So that's about all I have for now, it sounds very promising and well worth the money, unfortunately it will be quite some time (a month or two) before I get to enjoy it because of school... graduate school has proven to be quite time consuming...

Sounds cool man. I've been wanting to see some results from someone who buys this kit because I haven't really heard much about it yet. If you do get it, let us know how the install is and how it drives ok.:)

Excellent! I'm glad to see someone else is stepping up and buying this kit. I know one other guy has it but I haven't heard much about it so far. Maybe you can get us some dyno numbers or track times after you get it, that'd be cool. I'm hoping to get this kit someday if it isn't discontinued by time I get the loot.
The included reprogrammed PCM sounds interesting since the E/M guys say that's just what they need to really unleash the potential of their SC.
BTW, aren't you the one that make's those badass videos? If so, you need to make us a nice SC video when you get it. :D

ASE has something in the works for use with Superchargers. It's called the ASE Pro Kit II. It includes a special chip and a few other goodies. :boogie:

i just spoke with RSM today about the things listed. they did confirm everything but the cutting of the fins and the polished aluminum for $400 extra. i actually ordered this kit last friday and talked to the guy that had taken down my order. he said that they dont personally do the "chrome" add-on. when i heard that they could make the charger louder, i immediately called to see if they still had my charger in stock.

so what of the cut on the fins, what did they tell you? It was my understanding that you can get the "quiet version" or the "loud version"... As far as the "chrome add-on" its just a polished finish on an aluminium SC... they probably have to send it to a shop to have it done...

when i ordered mine, they just asked about the model, make, year, and tranny. they really didnt say anything about any extra add-ons. i asked if i could get mine to be modified to be louder. they said that they wouldnt cut the fins or modify it. they told me that it was +65 hp, it ships about 4-6 weeks (4 for mine), and they are located in Canada. irate, are you looking into buying soon?

Well, I actually ordered it a while ago, so I made it just before the October 1st hike... and RSM will be installing my SC, so I don't have to have it shipped because I am personally "shipping" my car right to their location. :D My schedule at school allows me no time, so I have to wait until Thanksgiving break to install the damn thing... hell, I am even foregoing the family functions to drive out to Toronto to get it installed  :D

this local shop Speedlab is doing the install on my car. they usually do forced induction set-ups. they spend a lot of time on the process and will even tune it.

Does anyone know if the RSM Supercharger work with the headers coming out? Cause it looks like some parts of the supercharger kit bolt right above the exhaust manifolds. Will it still be able to bolt on with the headers there?
Also,How much boost can the supercharger put out? Say an engine is rebuilt with better internals. How crazy can you get with the supercharger?

As for the headers, its almost impossible to tell, you need to contact either The Other Guys or talk to one of the guys with the headers on their car...
As for boost, you can definately get double digits... you could probably run up around 12-14 lbs with the right amount of boost... BUT all the boost in the world won't help unless you have a free-flowing engine. Boost has a tendancy to "build up" if it can't all flow easily, and this creates a LOT of unwanted heat.

You car sounds badass from your registry.Might have run into you during traffic. But then again I see a lot of GAs around, and also mistake the Grand Prix for GAs sometimes.I'm sure you can have some good races with us.My car sucks at the moment but I'm ok with that.Hopefully the RSM S/C and an engine swap will change all that.Hopefully the headers will work as well.
