I'm in the process of putting an active hood scoop or scoops into my 99 GAGT but am looking for the best way to get the air from under the hood to the air box. Dryer hose will get burnt if it touches the engine so that's not a great idea. Anyone know of a good site for things like tape that provides heat shielding or varieties of hoses? I haven't done alot of looking since I've mostly been working on getting a chrome scoop and getting the cutting and attaching done. Thanks for any help in advance.

Dryer hose conducts heat too well, you are heating the air before it reaches the motor kindof defeating the purpous of getting that nice cold air. PVC is excelent but do not run it any where near anything that is hot!!!! I heard of a company makeing a flexible good insulating intake hose but it was in one of my super streets that i threw out maybe someone remebers what that stuff was called. Good luck man peace!

One setup would be running two hoses from ramair scoops like on the SC/T hoods. In that case the hosing would be up front(by the radiator and ramair dam. Would that be too hot for PVC? I wanted to use the rubber type of hose that runs from our MAF to the throttlebody, but the guy helping me said it wouldn't exactly move the air quickly to the intake. One problem is that I need whatever hose to stretch so I can open my hood, I almost have to have extendable hosing on some part or it'll end up complicating getting the hood open and closed. I guess I could try to do something that connects once the hood is closed, like on that Buick with the active hood scoop(It was posted on these forums somewhere). It sucks because the guy is ready to do the cutting whenever I'm ready, but I don't want to rush it and end up ****ed at the results.
