I think my car has the gasket problem that so many others have had. Would having a CAI void my warenty on that? I don't have the CAI on my car, but I have it and am wondering if I should put it on or wait. Thanks.

Well, technically any repair that is needed on your car that involves something you modified voids the warranty. But it sometimes depends on the dealership you go to. Any mechanic knows a cold air intake has nothing to do with fracturing a intake manifold gasket. But some people will treat you like dirt and say the warranty is voided. Most of the guys on the site like to put the stock equipment back on, just so they arn't given a hard time, so I'd suggest keeping your stock intake on until the engine is fixed. Its not worth the headache they're going to give you, and its not like waiting a few days more is going to hurt.

Hope this helps!

Your CAI shouldn't void the warranty but. it really depends on your dealer. It seems like a lot of them screw us over so it may be better to put your airbox back on. Good Luck!

My only question to those quotes on that thread is if GM would wrongly argue that a CAI "adversely affects the emissions or the emissions system."

The dealer has to prove that the modifcation you did directly caused the failure.

There have been loads of threads on this topic, since we all do some modifcations here and there.. Check the warranty section or search around, if you have trouble finding more info than PM me.
