This sucks, I've been in the slow progress of going broke.
I started with a setup I was happy with, Factory Head unit, and a couple cheap high level input amps driving a Jensen band pass.

Then one of the subs blew, replace both with 2 10"MTX 4000's
the amps went replaced with an Alpine 250, another speaker went, I was removing them to test and get warranty and well I dropped one onto the other, and the are both F**ked.

Crap so I found a great deal on a pair of Audiobaun AL-10's and the alpine didn't cut it, so I traded up to an MTX 6000. It rocked For about three days.

Then It pushed out on of the factory 6x9's and I went and bought a pair of JL 6x9's to replace....

Then the head unit went POP...Wizzzzzzzzzzz. and then was silent forever more I think.

So... I bought a Sony Xplode M70 deck, wicked deck but still no sound...

So. I need to know from the factory harness where do the speaker leads go? Driect to speakers? to and external factory amp? Oblivion?

Help asap would be good. Thanks in advance

Monsoon or not Monsoon, that is the question. Monsoon means amp, normal deck means no external amp. Sounds to me like you had the monsoon, in which case there is a bit of rewiring to be done. Are you using an aftermarket harness to get that thing in there?

Who has been doing your installs, BTW?

It's not labled as a monsoon (it predates it I think 2000 GA) I could not find an external amp, the factory head unit actually pushed pretty good so I don't think its externally amped.

I installed and am absolutely stumped.

There is no resistance between the harness and te rear speakers but there in conductance on both channels. This is abdolutely bizarre

I have a 2000 GAGT with a Monsoon system.. and no its not labeled but the factory amp(if you have one) will be behind the carpet in the trunk on the driver's side( inside fender). Hope that helps.

Do your self a favor and just re-wire the speakers directly from point A-B. You'll be able to run heavier guage wire and Know exactly where it goes.

No resistance means either a shorted wire, or blown voicecoils.

Found it, Thanks all who helped, I'm surprised but the ...super bundle where the stereo hernedd jions god knows what else was rubbing in on a shrp edge of the dash support. It was shoritng my right rear channel, but It still confuses the heck of of me whay all the speakers would quit. looks like I didn't need the Sony deck after all. Oh well I'm hooked now.

Cheers:cheers:
