ohhh..... i just have an elementalgasm everytime i see their products.... the reason you haven't heard of them because they are more of an underground... i'll put every thing in terms of bitches and street talk here.
The pimps of the audio world (the leaders) are underground. They wanna keep a low profile and make sure business stays successful while not out to anybody. These pimps are Adire, DD, eD(elemental), Resonant Engineering, and some others. The underground companies rape!
The whores in the audio world are exposed to anyone and "pimp themselves" out. Everybody has come in contact with these bitches such as MTX, JL, ALPINE, SONY, PIONEER..
within the past 2 years, the underground biz has exploded.
if you really care and wanna be the cool guy, i'd go underground for quality stuff. ELemental's new subs come with a flat cone instead of concave which i find cool  ./... but i'm sad they discontinued the printing of the turquise E with the period under it.. that was as awesome symbol..
So basicaly if you didnt understand what i posted above, elemental rapes the corporate "big guys".... very good stuff...
if you want a killer amp also, go to www.respl.com and check out their amp..... 1580w RMS !~!!! all for only 600$ Canadian..
which is like 400American.... don't say it's cheap so it's ****ty...
My next system i get is gonna be the underground fellows....
FUKK THE OLD SCHOOL BRANDS
EDIT: i'd get the A series.... the O series are between the K and A.. K=lowest O=mid A=best

Elemental, makes great subs. They are an excellent value, though I do not think they're quite what they like to tout themselves as. Add them to the list of excellent alternative subs, along with Adire, DD, Resonent, and the rest.
That said - many of the "underground" companies also take advantage of people in a lot of ways. They'll tell you that the evil commision driven salesperson will tell you lies to make money, and that they are selling better product without commision driven salespeople so they are righteous and good. They are taking advantage of the fact that people believe what they read. Most of these companies offer very good product. But not any better than the "whores", as you so eloquently put it. The W7 has 6 years and several million dollars of R&D behind it. Most of the "underground" guys are using off the shelf componentry from overseas. SOME of them put it together themselves, that's about it. The Elemental woofers are excellent. That basket is generic, as is the motor assembly. They bought the rights to the cone and spider assembly, so they can say they "designed it". Maybe that's true, maybe not - you get my point. These "underground" companies are not non profit organizations. They make money, just like a commisioned salesperson. They just do less work to earn it. The "underground" companies are not driving the industry, they're killing it. They rip on retail shops for their pricing and whatnot, but what happens when there aren't anymore local shops? Will EVERYONE be a DIY installer? My 10 years of experience is here for you guys, and on other boards. But you don't get the whole benifit - most of my customers flat refuse to buy from anywhere I don't work, period. There is a level of service and commitment that comes with face to face sales and installation that these guys can't offer.
Sorry for the rant. There are good products out there in either market. I only go off because of MagiLLa's rather ridiculous comments, I hope some of you see my point.

I agree with AmIGrand. Where would the stereo industry be without your local dealers. They drive the industry, they hold the competions. Without them creating our desires for great sound, the "underground" would'nt exist. What would the average joe do if he wants a decent sound system. Without local dealers hawking the major brands, he would be screwed. It's the major brands selling butt-loads of equipment that has spurred on the advances in the industry. Without them, we would all be listing to AM radio and 8-track tapes on 3" and 4"x10" speakers, and not know what we're missing.
The underground companies are great, however, for the do-it-yourselver. It provides a low-cost, high-quality product for those who know how to build their own.

I just installed a single e12a this weekend in my Grand Am, and let me tell you it is one great sub. Sound's better then my old JLw3's, and for a single 12 it hits hard. I have an avionixx 800.2 which is bridged giving the sub 800 watts. The sub is as clean as a W7 but about half the price. Right now I have it in 1cube sealed which is my temporary box till i get a custom box built.
I would recommend Elemental Designs to anyone of you.... Oh yea they have great customer service too.

eD subs are half the price of a w7? more like almost 1/3...
here w7's are 1000$ CANADIAN, and you can get a 12" A series for 1/3 of that... and the K series are 1/4 the price

I was just looking for opinions so everyone is entitled to theirs :D
On a down note the O series sub wont be shipping till June 1st and I need a new sub before a car show on May 2nd so now I'm stuck should I put money down for the O series sub and wait it out or I was looking at the Resonant Engineering SE series sub very simliar specs. They actually encourage buying from a local dealer but dont think there are any in my area :(

Well, I know the guy who started the company is really cool, he and I sat outside the shop I worked at and BS'd for 1/2 an hour or so over a cigarette when they moved their production facility right down the street. :D
Excellent subs. And if you like the e suff Greg, you'd be well off with a dual 4 ohm A series and your amp, I'd rather see that in there than an O. As for RE, shoot towards the midlle, not the low end.

From what I hear RE is more of an SPL sub and the ED is more SQ...you really think a single A wont blow up feeding it close to 600W @ 2 ohm?

I'm giving my A 800watts at 4ohms with no problems in a sealed box. I'm building a ported box for it, and I don't expect to blow it.
