I am going to be splicing the wires to run a line out converter for my Basslink :) So, can anyone tell me the best way to do this? I was thinking scotchlocks?!?! Also, what is the gauge of the wire so I can get the correct scothlocks if that is the best route?
Thanks a bunch!

When my line out convertor was put in they stripped the wire then soldered and taped it

That was a thought of mine as well...Though it seems as if it would be hard to strip those tiny wires! Any ideas?

I just use those blue butt-connectors. I guess it would be better to solder but soldering is a pain in the confines of a car. I still have solder stuck in my carpet from the last time I soldered.

I (think) the size you'll want is the 14-18 gauge quick splice.
If you can get the 3M kind that closes over hte wire, and you plug a male quick disconnect into, get them... Otherwise regular old "quick splice" connectors or whatever they are called will do fine.
If you can't find the schematics for what you need then gimme a holler and I'll show u the right thread.

Thanks for the help, Iceman...I think I will probably get the regular old quick splice, as they are the easiest to find around here. Just seems so much easier than actually stripping the wires. I will yell for ya if I need anything else!
Thanks,

Yeah.. what I did for lineout converters on monsoons is not to extend the wires on the converter at all.. Tap the wires as they come directly to the wires at the amp, and there is a nice spot to tie it up and out of the way back there, or even screw it down.
While we are on the topic.. As far as stropping back wire insulation goes without cutting the wire, for tapping purposes, I have a wire stripper, I guess I'll have to take a pic, but it's the kind you can get at home depot, black plastic, you place the wire in the opening, squeeze, it strips and pulls back the insulation for you.
You can fit this around a wire to strip for tapping purposes real easy.. I know most electronics heads like myself like stripping wire with wire cutters, but this makes things 100% easier especially for tapping. (btw there is a metal wire stripper thats similar, it's crap, stay away from it )
