I have it. In hotter climates without a switch to turn your radiator fans on, it really does nothing in city driving because the stock fans still come on at around 220 degrees. Mine temp still gets to 215 while idling in traffic, but on the highway, it runs about 185-190. In cold weather, it does take a while to get heat and my mileage suffers a bit when cold out. I think the best thing to do would be take out the stocker and drill a few 1/8 or 1/4 inch holes in it. I would, but changing that bad boy once was enough to let me know I will leave the focker alone! It really is a pain in the ass to get to.

I really don't think so. I've researched operating temps on LS1.com, and the consensus over there is that stock is about right. For best power, around 195-200 degrees with the coldest intake charge you can get is best. Heat=power. If your temps start going up to 215 like mine do in stop and go traffic, just click on the A/C for a bit until the radiator fans click on. Even when you turn the A/C back off, the fans will stay on until the engine cools back down to around 200. Some guys over at LS1.com have siad that a 75% water, 25% Dexcool with 2 bottles of water wetter in the radiator with the stock thermostat (195 degree) will keep temps from never going over 210, even in stop and go. That way, you don't even have to **** with fan settings at all. I'm going to try that mixture next summer and see what happens, cause my car does heat up quite a bit on hot summer days.
