long story but please read...
ok, i bought pfyc's FPR about early march, had it installed by the same shop that installed my SC, and took it to the dyno today to have the unit adjusted to fix my lean problem. ok, while there we did several runs on the machine and realized the FPR unit was leaking fuel all over the place! the FPR on the 2.4L is located right above the alternator, which is now being dripped on and may cause fire or explosion. the car barely driveable and runs EXTREMELY lean. sometimes the car will bog and stutter almost killing the car. what do i do? pfyc's return policy is crap. this is the first time i am unhappy with their service and products. should i invest in the RKSport FPR? has anyone tried it? any help would be great. thanks

did you pull the o ring out of the bottom of the old regulator and install it in the new one??
caspers does not include a new o ring :(

wow, where can you get just the o-ring? We will see if thats the problem...my guess is that that would definately cause leaking...BTW this is pacman under a friends name

good luck, its an odd ball size o ring
I tore my first one and had the hook up at an autozone, but the new one was slightly too big.
I have a 1,000 pice O ring kit and it doesnt have a size that will work :(
I'd check GM I guess

Yeah it a real pain to get it out too. I recommend a scribe. That solved my leaking problem.

This issue your having with the FPR scares the hell out of me. I've been thinking about doing this and the 62mm throttle body soon, and now I'm really wondering if this is a good idea, since others have had leaks too. Wow, I'm the person that would have a fire under the hood too, with my luck. Make sure to post up when you get this resolved.

It sorta looks like a dentist's pick. It is a bit more heavy duty. That O-ring by the way is a bit large. Just be careful not to tear it up. I took mine to my mechanic and had him pull it out for me. Has worked like a charm since. BTW, it very hard to see.

if you take the o ring out of the old fpr your fine.
its just some of us are dumb and figured it would have a new one or would seal without it.
we were wrong.
someone should contact www.casperselectronics.com about this and get them to include an o ring.
Pac I told you to go with the rksprt one from the beginning. :) I have it on. It is awesome and works great.
You can kinda see it here. Under my intake piping on the right.

Caspers should include a new one. Getting the old one out wasen't too bad, but I've heard a lot of people who have torn their old one trying to pull it out. I had to pry mine out with a small scredriver. Then you install it in the one, which by the way is similar but not the same as the stock FPR. Use some lip therapy or vaseline when reistalling it so it isen't dry going inot the fuel rail. With those two things in mind, it should only take you 30 minutes to install. The gasket and the fuel line removal are the only difficult parts that I ran into.

ok, i bought a new o ring today. where does it go? i went back to the shop to ask if they could finish the install cause this was needed, but all he did was talk crap. he said that it didnt need to be on there, "why are you listening to a bunch of people that aren't professionals", etc. he is full of ****. where does this o ring fit? thanks

#1 Your Mechanic is grossly in error.
If you look at the bottom of the FPR (that is the threaded end that the fuel line NOT the fuel rail attaches too) you will see a recessed ledge of sorts that the O-ring needs to be pushed down into.
In the stock one, the O-ring is in a cut out recess on the same end.
Next, once the O-ring is pushed down into the new FPR put some vaseline or lip therapy on the Fuel rail end (side of FPR) and install this into the fuel rail.
Once your fuel line is tight on the new FPR that you installed the new O-ring into you should be in good shape. Make sure your fuel line is tight.
Turn the car to the On position and check for leak sonce your fuel system is pressurized.
Hope this helps.

ok i took it to the shop and they installed the thing right infront of me. it looks like both o rings were on and no leaking from those spots. i think it is just a bad unit. i emailed pfyc about this problem and they are saying i need to contact casper's about it. if i can get a refund, i will buying the RKSport instead. it offers a higher adjustable range which i need cause my car is running really lean. i think i might order within the next week or so. thanks for all the help everyone
