Great news... Here is my question: Why do you say they arent proper for performance springs? They work great for me...

It's all about how you define "proper" and "great". Your "great" may be someone else's "stiff ride". We have to be careful how we sell them so we don't mislead anyone into buying them and expecting a perfect ride with lowering springs.

THAT is cheaper than factory???? Looks like I'll have an excuse to get them. lol
Must focus.....exhaust system first..........
Stock struts aren't bouncy yet though. :(

sorry this came out of nowhere...
Fittipaldi Force what's the offset on those rims?

Please e-mail info@pfyc.com and someone there can help. I don't know offhand.

So I take it that these offer a stiffer ride than new stock struts?

The GR2 strut is not much stiffer than stock. They are just about equal to Monroe Sensa-Tracs. It is KYB's "generic" strut.
By not "proper" for lowering springs, that applies to *ANY* strut with the same piston length as the factory. If you drop the car 1", you need a 1" shorter piston on the strut to get "optimum" performance. Will it work with stock length ... of course! Just don't expect a free warranty replacement when you tell them you have lowering springs. (Just tell them you have stock springs!).
PFYC is just covering their a$$. With today's blood-thirsty laywers, you would too!

Do the rears cost more than fronts or something??

Yes, almost $20 per strut.

Think you can sell Front Pairs / Rear pairs separate? I got a set of fronts here but could use rears..

Sure. Let me add that now.

About time. I thought we'd have to wait forever for the rears. The back of my car seems a little bouncy so it could use stiffer struts. I'm glad we can buy them separate too because I already have the fronts. Only thing that sucks is when I put them on I'll have to have another alignment.:(

So what exactly do these do? Do these make the ride "stiffer" or do they make the ride "softer"? I'm lost. Are there performance gains over the factory?

Hey, you mis typed the price at the bottom. =)
Price of $244.99 is per set of four struts. Leave quantity at 1 and you will get all four struts

Shouldn't this go in the suspension forum? :o

Uh ... the description is pretty self explanatory on the PFYC page ... 10-15% stiffer than stock!

Uhhh, you need to re-read... "Offering dampening characteristics 10-15% greater than that of the factory struts, you'll find the KYB GR-2 an excellent choice for replacement of your factory struts. "
When I hear dampening I think softer. Hence why I was confused.... Nowhere did it say 10-15% stiffer

Dampening being the the ability to absorb a said force. By 10-15% greater, it means it can damp 10-15% more force thus making it 10-15% stiffer ON AVERAGE. Granted a strut is a non-linear device ...

Sounds good! So, asside from being stiffer, are there any other performance gains? Pardon my ignorance, struts aren't my thang :D

They should also last longer than your stock struts and hold up to more abuse. They are nitrogen gas pressurized, which keeps the oil in the strut from frothing and bubbling under repetative compression and expansion. This keeps the performance more uniform and helps reduce heat build up.

well if they are just as good as Sensatracs why spend 249 bucks sensatracs are a lot cheaper
AaronGTR

They are not "as good" as sensatracs, they are better. Sensatracs are a direct replacement for the stock struts and are not any stiffer, nor are they gas pressurized. If you have performance springs you need stiffer struts.

I didn't mean it literally. I intended it as in the context of NOT a performance strut. At least I would not call the GR2 with only 10% more damping than stock even CLOSE to a performance strut. The AGX on the other hand ...
Speaking of performance-quality ... anyone try the Mantapart "Performance" Struts yet? Just curious how they stack-up to the other options available...

i would like to know as well, im thinking of purchasing the mantapart struts sometime in the future, but wanna have opinions first. These look pretty good by the way, but i think it says they aren't recommened for already lowered cars, so i guess ill have to skip this.

Actually the Mantapart Sports Struts are specifically designed for lowered cars. They take a stock core, cut 1.25" off the shaft and bolt-on a custom made valve assembly. They refill with high performance non-foaming fluid and reseal.
