I'm a new person to the Grand AM and Grand Prix Series. (Wife has the AM and I have the prix).

Basically my wife would like to make her AM GT Sedan a little.. okay long term make that a lot faster. I realize that it's a little aged but what lower costs items can I have added (professionally... not by me) that would help her gain acceleration and HP?

Well I also have a 97 GT and have found there is only a limited amount of stuff you can do to the 3100 engine compared to the 3.4 or even the 2.4. If you're just starting out though with your engine i'd say the Jet module, custom intake(since no company makes one for the 3100), and the bigger throttle body and upper and lower intake manifolds(offered at www.StreetArsenal.com). You could possibly see a twenty to thirty HP gain from all of this, but you will be able to tell the difference for sure. Another possibility would be a tiny shot of nitrous(around a 50 shot).

well..if you have 3400$ laying around I recommend getting a supercharger from www.rsmracing.com ..you could also do ported heards, upper and lower intakes, 62 mm Throttle body, full custom exhaust..headers (I think S&S makes em for the 3100 engine)..how fast you go depends on how much cash you have to throw at it..you could also inquire into a machining shop for a stroker kit..make the 3100 into a 3200 or 3300..also you could try higher compression pistons, but I don't recommend it if your going to run boost of any kind..
