Cool info on the 2003 Impala!

A 240hp SS model will be offered mid year. I think there was somebody around this board wanting a supercharged Impala, well now they have it.

My guess is that it will be a tad quicker than a Grand Prix GTP since its lighter and should also handle better because of its size unless they keep the ride a bit soft. But finally its gettin some added hp that it needs.

Impalas are slightly heavier (100 lbs). An impalla SS with a 3.8 SC will perform/handle the same as a GTP. MY husband has a 99 GTP with several mods- and its much quicker than my Alero. But my Alero with the optional QSK suspension(same as GAGT) handles better than his GTP. :)

Thank god Chevy decided not to shy off when making the SS version of that baby. It's settled, I'm telling my dad when he waked up that he needs to get that car. He's been debating on what car to get, and all he hears is good things about Impalas and he really likes the style and price, but I've been trying to keep him away from it because I don't really like the performance of the current ones. But forget about that now!!! Go GM. Guess I can keep him from getting that Accord now (although he wouldn't have gotten the V6 of that anyway).

I saw a monte carlo with headlights that had black around the trim. Is this a 2003 model? I was passing the dealership so i did not get a closer look.

Yeah, there are restyled a tad in the rear from what I've seen, looks alot better now. Remember how the two round tail lights on either side was surrounded in that red reflective trim or whatever you what to call it. They got rid of it and now you just have the two round tail lights on either side. Gimme a day and I'll get a compareo' pic for ya.

But whats cool is the 2003 GM concept cars, one of which just happens to be a "tell us if you like" restyling of the Impala SS and it is freaking bad a**! I would buy it in a heart beat if they sold it. Heres' the link to it along with some other concept cars including a car called the Pontaic G6 which some people around here seem to think is the next GA for who knows what reason. But the Impala SS-just called the SS concept is what a V-8 Impala SS might look if enough people tell GM to make it and its sweet. *drools* I love the huge wheels and huge fender flares, which gives it a old school muscle car look that I like. Man that thing screams "get the heck out of the way".
