Hey guys, I know there a few (to say the least) that ride sport bikes on here and I really respect everyones opinions (for the most part I think this board gets some of the best info on the 'net).

I'm looking at getting a 2003 YZF-R6 (blue & silver combo like my GA!). The bike looks exactly like this, except the black is silver and flames are blue...

I put the IMG tags in but it isn't working so just click on the link.

The guy at the place I am going to buy it from (if I buy) is giving me a pretty good deal on it, and especially with the 3.9% financing right now from Yamaha, it's a pretty good deal.

Only reason I was looking at this is my friend is thinking about getting a Yamaha 660R Raptor, and between the two of us (maybe three as his brother might get either a bike or quad).

I was wondering if anyone has heard good/bad on the R6 or what?! It might end up with me getting a Raptor as well so we can all go out and have fun at the track...but who knows.

There is a possibility that we might go Honda (bike or quads) because my friends know a guy at the local honda dealer (bikes not cars ;))

It won't be happening real soon (especially since I'm unemployed) but the spring/summer fever is getting to all of us and I could see use getting something here within the next couple months.

Any tips/tricks/secrets, would be very much appreciated.

Like I said, at this moment, only looking......but it's sooooooooooo tempting. Especially since I've not bought a bike before, any and all info is appreciated!

Well I can get it for 4K brand new ;)

That's why I'm looking into it. They are giving us a heck of a deal with being 3 bike/quads... :)

Hey Starfire the r6 rocks!
Has TONS of good write ups.

The first one i've seen was the color scheme you have mentioned.
Me like:thumbs:

As for the RAPTOR:wow:

Where you talking about honda street bikes or dirt or quads?

I just bought a Honda CRF but had to take my neibor with me for he got them to wave some "docing" or "shipping" charges?

I'm not quite sure but make sure you and your buds look at the fine print on everything. Especially off road and Especially when financing.

They had all these hidden fees and charges they tried to hit us with:mad:

is this your first bike? if so that may be a tad bit too much to learn on, you might want to look into a used bike first, it may save you money down the road
