I'll definately try to make it. A chance for people to finally see my car. I've always wanted to make it to a meet, but they are never close by. If I can't, maybe you guys can stop by and say hello on your way through Saskatchewan.

We should just have a prairies meet in saskatchewan for albertans, saskatchewanians and manitobans. The 14 hour drive to calgary is nuts.

hey guy's what going on. by the way Waffler thanks for posting the meet in here. just got in the gagt site today. Well any case I'm planning a grand am meet in Calgary. you can see the threads on the other site. I say the suggestion to have it in winipeg. that would be way to much travelling for me in 3 day's I live all the way In Victoria BC. That why I picked Calgary. Of course alero's are welcome. I noticed a few faces from an old forum called teamga. I went under the same handle in there so hi nice to seeyou all again. in gaowners site i'm cyrrus. so If any one has any question about the meet in Calgary ont he aug long weekend. either pm me either one of the sites. or you can email me directly at eaublond@yahoo.ca

well the reason why winnipeg would be really good is because our cruising/racing scene is like no other in this country its truly a sight to be seen

RGAGT

yes magilla, they do. Our cruise scene is pretty famous actually. Don't you remember from last year how there was no room at all downtown every sunday. PACKED.

MagiLLa
04-05-2003, 12:51 AM
i remember. it's tight from the corner of portage and main, up to past Midas.... but come on, all from North America? idk... i think people would rather see the Tropical States cruise scenes, FL, CALI, etc.

well in any case I'm still trying to have the meet in calgary. It's just easier for me to plans in calgary since I used to live in alberta for 9 years. lived in Calgary for over a year. Plus with me living in Victoria. just make more sense. to have it in Calgary. Hey I could of tried to have it in Van. but that would be fare for the guy in manitoba. That the main reason i'm having it in Calgary. I've already made some arrangement with some clubs and waiting to hear back from them and some hotels.

04-05-2003, 11:26 AM
Oh hey, rgagt nice to see you again. I've seen a couple poeple from the team on the other site. and a few on here. Man it seems that when the team split up, it pretty much split some went to hear some went to the other site. oh yeah alero's are welcome to the meet in calgary. the grand am and alero's are like brothers. just with different dad but same mom.:D

All I have so far is that it's going to be aug long weekend Sat aug 2 and Sunday aug 3rd. I'm in the process in talking to the manager of Cowboy's to see if they can wave the cover and the line up for us. I'm just starting with the hotels. Right now i'm trying to get some info on what poeple would like to do.
This is what I have so far I though we could meet on the north west corner either by crowfoot center or by the airport. then cruise down to uncle willy's on Mcloed trail. I used to work at Subaru across the street from there. there was alway a car grooup meeting there. Uncle willie's is like an old car hoop. I (actully the fiancee) has a friend that his father own a pontiac dealership in Calgary. maybe we could meet there and maybe he could some swag, as the attention of the grand am might make for some good business for him. I'm also planning on getting the press involved so that we could get some more exposer. then I though we could cruise to get some food and chat. then we could dispurse to our hotels and get changed and go for some drinks and dance, ( I know the fiancee coming with me and should would appreciat that. On sunday maybe we could cruise to banff and maybe lake louise for some mountian driving. get some cool shot's of the GA's and I know in banff if it's nice there a beach or grab a bite to eat. then back to calgary for some kind of wind down. I'm also going to check if we could get some swag from local business( not sure yet) Hey that what I have so far I'm going to be working on this. heck(brain storm just happened) maybe in while in banff we could have a picnic and group bbq/potluck. So what do you think. Sorry about the long thread

Yeah, if I wasn't speaking at the conference I would skip it this year as the meet sounds/looks like fun.

Enjoy guys, if you want me to hook you up with some VIP passes to a few of the local strip clubs let me know, I am friends with the owners of the French Maid chain (3 clubs) here in Calgary.
