Ok, well... this has nothing to do with GAs. But I bet it could. ;) Anyway, I know there are some good suspension guys on here (Matt...), so I just want to see if perhaps someone can help me out some.
Since Koni feels they don't need to make strut cartridges for my car, I started to do some research myself. I am pretty sure struts from the Js and Ls are pretty close to each other. So I think (hope) I can use the Koni's for the Js. In my searching, I found some interesting info on Monroe's site, and this is where I need the help. Monroe has a chart that lists the mounting and lengths of all their struts. So I looked up Monroe struts for a 94 J and a 94 L. Here is the info I found:
J Strut:
strut body type:B13
strut body length:14.625
Comp length:11.500
Ext length:17.375
Trav length:5.875
L Strut:
strut body type:B13
strut body length:13.875
Comp length:11.375
Ext length:17.500
Trav length:6.125
Ok, so I figure the body type being the same is a good thing. The body length is what I am wondering about. Would 0.75" make that much of a difference when trying to install the cartridge into the strut body? Any insight you guys can provide would be great.
