I was at the Mazda dealership the other day to talk with the service rep and in walking in/out I checked out a bunch of Mazda 6's they had on the lot. I believe they had one of each color available. Let me say, DAMN, that is a sweet car. Supposedly it has quite a bit of get up and go to witht he V6. Afetrmarket parts are already flowing too.
Unfortunately I think I have to say, another import car tops domestic.

Yet another FWD V6 available with a manual transmission.
That's a great car. Features are nice, looks are clean, interior is very nice and very functional, no gigantic wings or ugly square odd lines on the car, Mazda did good this time. I saw one up close at the auto show.

I like the 6 a lot. I drove a V6 automatic a few months ago, and if I were in the market for a new car, the 6s would right at the top of the heap. The steering is well-weighted with good road feel. The suspension is very buttoned-down, but doesn't ever feel harsh, even with 17" wheels. The Optitron guages are really nice, and Mazda seems to be one of the few automakers that knows how to make a comfortable, yet very supportive seat. The slushbox is okay; I think GM still makes the best automatic transmissions, but I can't ignore the availability of a crisp 5-speed stick coupled to the V6. Oh, and my wife's Mazda has been unbelievably reliable.....I expect no less from the 6.

My coworker just ordered a 6 with the 5-speed... in that charcoal gray / gunmetal / whatever color.. should be here in 45 days, can't wait to take a spin :)
Only gripe I've heard about the 6 is the small opening to the trunk. A good friend of mine took one for a test drive. He loved the car. Only thing he said was it would be hard to get big things inside the trunk since the opening is so small.
If they made one with 2 doors, I'd consider selling my GA.

trunk size is one thing I have noticed after I bought my ice chest before the picnic last year. I think the GA is the ONLY car who has a trunk large enought to house it....

I'm looking forward to driving one myself in near future... I haven't taken the time to go test drive one but will make some time soon...
Mazda is also sponsoring a competitive challenge called "Rev it up" where they'll be giving an Mazda 6 to the winner...it's a 15 city event...unfortunatley Cleveland is not one of the cities...but for all the Philly peeps I do recall seeing Philly as one of the cities...Those interested can check www.mazdarevit.com for more details.... sounds like fun.

I like the styling of the 6. It looks really sporty. I love the interior as well.
Wahoo!!! There is a Rev it up here in Maryland! At FedEx Field. I think I may sign up. I would get to see what the 6 is all about. :)

Yes it is a sweet car. I test drove one myself... I couldn't believe how smooth the engine was. It also handled very well. Inside materials are very nice!
