Michigan Grand Am Crew First meet....on the Upswing!

Hello all!!

Well after a few early bumps, and our special guest otherwise occupied (Poor Jace was sick, and has been for a couple of weeks) (Bruce had an engagment in Indiana). We made it through! The weather was a touch cold...ok...it was FREEZING!! But enough with the negative and on to the positive!

I must pass along a compliment from one of the people there at Cracklewood. She mentioned to me that we were the best behaved most well mannered group she had ever catered to. She was very impressed and wanted me to express that to the group.

I believe with the attendance that we had, we have laid a good foundation for what can be a wonderful club. I enjoyed meeting everyone (especially you DAVE!!!!....bout time!!) Anyway, I do believe that some good things were established, and the next meet will be bigger and better. Although I'm making Nikki pick the date, because for the life of me any time that I mention Stoney Creek in any meet, or, plan any meet that far in advance EVER!!

REMINDER: I did catch a couple little things....PLEASE do not drive obnoxiously, alarms being set off are not necessary.... ok..my speech is over.

It was great to finally meet you guys! Well worth the (very very long) drive! Adam, might I suggest a next meet date? May 3, Stanton, MGM3. Im going, itd be great to get some Other Ga's out there. Heck thats only 2 hours away from my house, practically right down the road!!! I enjoyed the meet today, even though I was the first to leave, and so did the other people I brought with me. Erin wants to start a "MCNYC: (Michigan Chrylser New Yorker Club). GOod luck...

hey everyone. i am typing on my phone at work so this will be continued later. i had an absolute blast hanging out with everyone, and educating people about nextel lol. the meet was very organized and professional and i was very pleased with everything.

I had a great time. I was super tired and a bit preoccupied with other things in my life, but it was GREAT to meet everyone and have the turn out that we did, granted the weather was the way it had been the last 3 days, we still managed to get OVER 20 MI cars out that day (and all of them looked like they had just got done rallying because of that damned dirt road before the country club.) YAH! for car clubs. :D

I'd like to throw in a bit of agreeance with what Adam shortly mentioned. Horseplay is fun, but not when it can harm others or cause someone else to lose respect for us.

Can't wait for the next get together.

Yes, the meet was awesome, and I had a great time. I was really looking forward to seeing everyone after being in Ohio for 4 months. Now if it'll just stop snowing so I can get to the race track this week.:D Has anyone looked outside recently? There's like 3 inches of snow on the ground here.:huh:

Adam, might I suggest a few things?

I'm not sure if everyone had FRS Two-way radios, but its a good idea to a pair for when we caravan or even if you're going to GAP. Its an easy way to get in touch with everyone, especially when we are caravanning to a location that not every one knows where it is.

The chirping of the tires in the parking lot and the setting off of the alarms -- I don't want to say "bad kids!", but it was almost a completely opposite way of promoting the club. Adam specifically underlined in his statements and speech that we are not going to be disrespectful and childish in public. We don't want people to think of us as "Seen one, seen em all, they're all trouble makers". Its not what we stand for. So when we're out in public together, the least you can do is be calm and adultlike when we drive. Just a small note that I thought i'd toss in there.

Suggestions for new meets:
I would say that an up and coming Friday afternoon would be a great day for a test and tune day at Milan for an afternoon. Its only the beginning of April and aside from the sweep of hellish weather, i'm sure there will be wonderful days to come out to the track, like this Friday which holds a forecast of sunny and 60 degrees! I dunno, just a few things to think about it.

Yeah, the squeelling tires only seem to happen when certain people get around a certain WS6.;) I exerted self control though and resisted any antics on my part. It's too easy to do in my car anyway:D .

I plan on going to milan this weekend if the weather gets nicer. Don't think I'll make it on friday though, I got something to do. I was thinking of the test&tune/braket racing on saturday or sunday.

Hello to everyone. I want to appologize to you all, especially to Adam for not showing up to the first meet. It sounds like you all had fun even with the weather. Besides that weather, there were a few other things that came up. I thought i could still make it, but couldn't.
