I'm currently looking for a good deal on rims and tires and i noticed that Wheelmax.com has a bunch of stuff on clearance for a low as $699 for rims and tires.

Has anyone ever purchased anything from them, and if so how legit is the company. They say they have 17's in 5 lug but they don't specify the offset. What kind of quality are tires when they are this cheap.

I have heard good feedback from that place.

What rim is it, maybe I know/can obtain the offset?

the only thing I'd recommmend is to not take the tire size that they give you with the package...ask for an upgrade to a wider tire. sometimes they'll sell 17x7's with a 205 tire! yikes!

The rims are located in the special offer section. They are the
Exel GT-7 in silver finish for $799, and the Exel H-60 in silver for $699.

I was afraid they would give me some cheap *** tires that would kill me

I believe Exel is a sister company of wheelmax. Their rim isn't very popular, so take that for what it is worth. You are going to have to call them to get offset info. You want +38 to +42. You also want tire package 3 in those deals. 205 on a 17" rim, I concur with DK...WTF wtf!!

Popular to customers of Wheelmax, maybe. It sounds like they're using social proof theory to sell there rims. Companies use this to make you think "wow, these are the top selling brand, they must be good". I won't make any negative judgements about the rims themselves other than the fact that they may be a bit heavy.

Any wheel/tire package under $1000 is probably not very good. Why do you think they're trying to get rid of them. They do carry good brands though. I personally like the racing harts. The ones I've seen are very high quality and they have a good reputation. Don't go with the tires on any of the packages either. Most of them are too narrow and have very low speed ratings (not even a V like our stock tires). Get at least 225's or 235's and a V or W speed rating. They'll upgrade for an extra $100-$200.

Marcus,
I suggest your email pimpdaddyhouse@hotmail.com (House from MIGPC) he has awesome hookups at Discount Tire. He could prolly get you a better wheel/tire setup for cheaper then they should be.

...i have Exel wheels.. and i believe keita (kbow) does... the Excel wheel is the brand that is wheelmax's brand... meaning that the company that manufactures the wheel puts the Excel name on it and it is sold only through wheelmax...

...i personally love my wheels... i didn't get tires with it though... those were bought at a later date...

...the only thing with wheelmax is that if you get an off bolt pattern (which most likely it is cuz i don't see them carry 5x115) then trying to get hubcentric rings from them is a PITA... but the Excel rims i bought had the center bore of the rim printed on the box so i went to a local performance shop and they looked up the factory size and were able to get me the right hub centric ring...
