Maybe it's just me, but if your car seems slower than it is supposed to be, is there chance that there are mechanical problems?

Do a tune up and filter changes.

What exactly do you mean by tune up?
As far as filters, I just got new K and N drop in air filter. My car only has 16k miles. I don't think it needs anything else right now.

Give it some break in time. Engines work better after they have some time. Also it could be the fuel filter, just one tank of bad gas can clog them. This would probably show up with poor milage also. A bad catalytic converter from the factory would cause poor performance and milage also. Yes, sometimes rejects do slip through QC. If I remeber right they allow up to 10% blockage. I wasn't on that end of things, but some have more blockage than others.

Also, is it slower than it is supposed to be or slower than you expected? There are many factors that will make a car run different times.

bear in mind that the kind of weather you are at can play a role too. colder and denser weather can make your car act stronger when in hotter and dry days, your car may not be strong. cold air is more denser than hot air, therefore your car seems to be more strong on cold or dense days.
