I know this seems odd. I know someone whos break light went on. I'm assuming its her break fluid that needs to be refilled. SO I get dot 3 break fluid go pop off the cap and fill it up to the line and put it on and go home. Is it that easy? I was just wondering if tehre were any precautions I need to take. Such as pressure, or the fluid being hot. Do I pump the breaks etc. Or is it just fill and go. Also when checking the break pads, can I determine how long they will last? I know if there is no pad left obv. they need new ones. This is for a toyota solara 00

as far as i know, all you have to do is just add dot 3 brake fluid and you're good to go. however, some cars have a cold min/max and a hot min/max, so be sure to distinguish which level to use according to the temp. of the engine.

as far as the brakes go, there's really no precise way to tell how long they will last because this will depend on usage while driving. of course, more braking means more wear and tear on the brakes pads, shoes. i hope that helped.
