I have a problem coming from my left front tire area. I hear a rubbing sound sorta like swish swish swish as the car moves slowly. I can't figure out what the hell is causing it. On top of that, I have a tire leak from the same left front tire. My tire is going flat slowly. Every week I have to put air in it. Freakin pot holes here in dc. This sux. :rage:
Could it be that the tire is signaling to me that it has a leak? The car is stock.

could be the RSA bead noise a lot of people had problems with, and therefore you could be losing air via the bad bead.

Get new tires as soon as you can :p
damn rsa's!
either that or the chrome is wearing off on your rims (inside). I'd get new tires first.

If you still have a warranty take it in, you may get new tires.

I had some problems with my right front tire about a month ago. It was losing pressure and making the sound just like yours is. My stock rim was cracked on the inside part. That's why it was losing air and making the sound. I had to go to a junk yard and pick up a new rim before I got some new tires. No more sound, no more losing pressure. Take it to a shop and have them check it out.

I have this in PDF with the images etc. If you want it, send me a PM with your email address.
Someone had it here for download once, and I still have a copy.
I have this problem too, but pumping the tires up to 35psi has solved it enough to keep me from dealing with my crappy dealership.
The TSB calls for 2 new front tires... if you are still running the stock RSA's, and you are still under warrantee.

so this means I can get 2 new front tires? I am still under warranty and I am running the stock RSAs. Thanx for the link.
Oh, and I made a mistake in my first post and my title. It's not the left front tire, it's the right.

Short answer - Yes. The TSB Clearly states that if you have this problem (specifically the grooves in the tire near the rim), they are to replace the front tires.
Long answer - My personal Experience - My dealer had not read it well enough, and only wanted to clean - re-mount them. (AFAIK, that was the old solution to the problem, but the noise would come back.) But he wouldn't do anything until I had the brake pads changed cause they were low and he said that might be the problem... even though it was obvious to me that it wasn't. I didn't argue the tire issue at that time because I was busy arguing the brake repair...
I argued with them over making me pay to repair the rotors/brakes which had warped for a second time. They wanted me to pay $200 for them to put new pads one and machine the rotors a second time. I got the brakes fixed myself (EBC/Brembo), but had not gotten around to taking the car back in for the tires.
I just happened to notice the noice reduce or dissapear by going to 35psi. That's good enough for me... Saves me sitting in their waiting room for a couple hours when I am really busy lately, and saves me arguing with them. I have 29K on the car, and will be replacing them with something better late this fall.
Some dealers can be talked into replacing all 4. Some will do it only when the problem comes back after rotating the tires.
Needless to say, this dealer has totally lost any future business from me. Even if something obvious comes up with the warrantee, I am taking it elsewhere. I will also (obviously) never buy another car from them again... even though the purchase part of their dealership was very good IMO.
My rims are marked to hell because they can't seem to figure out how to keep weights on the rim from falling off. My car threw a weight two different times within a week. Once on a long trip, so I had to live with the vibrating the whole way. I wasted hours in their waiting room until they finally got them to stay on. It only took them three tries.
OK, enough rambling....
The PDF I have is the same as what you read in the linked thread above, but with the pictures.

ok, i'm going to argue that I want all tires replaced because when it's time to rotate, the problem with reappear.
I have sent you a pm of my email address.

Either someone is purposely putting holes in my tires, or this is a bad problem. I came to meet my car leaning more to the right. I look at the tires and notice the rear right tire had lost a lot of air. Now that is the front right tire and rear right tire. So I have to get 4 new tires now, no excuses.
