I have a 02 GAGT1 that has water leaking into the pass side floor, so much that it fills to the top and overflows. I am wondering if any of you have had this issue? I have had the windshield replaced several times thinking it was that, but I don't think it is now. The water leaks into the fuse box and runs down the inside portion of the door up against where the fuse box is. It gets into the fuse box and shorts my fog lights and now even after it being dried out they will come on even when the car has just sat all day.
If any of you have any information on this or know where I could get some I would appreciate it.

You got a sunroof? If so, that's almost certainly where the problem lies.
At any rate, this probably belongs in the Technical Q&A section...

Water leaks SUCK. I had one (more than one actually) on my 2000 GP GT. I eventually found it (after the dealer monkeys "fixed" it three times) along the drivers door pillar. If your fusebox is getting wet I would also say sunroof drain line is plugged or possibly your windshield. I doubt it's your windshield if you've had it resealed several times already.
I seem to recall someone having this exact same problem with the foglights and it ended up being that their sunroof drain lines weren't long enough and were just dumping the water out into the door jamb. The service manual has a replacement procedure for the front and rear drain hose but it states the front drain hose runs down the drivers side pillar.

I had same problem. Dealer found out that I had bad sunroof glass. They replaced it under warranty.
What happened was water leaked around sunroof, went down the pillar, fusebox, and all the way to floor and that popped the trunk open.

Yup, same here... I had it into the dealer 12 times for the problem. I was about to return the SOB when I decided to fix it myself. Hardly leaks at all anymore, only in prolonged rain storms... Ah well, GM can't do everything right, right?

hmm, mine was a water barrier in the door or something like that. only took them an hour to fix, and they even steam cleaned all the carpets too.

Had the exact same problem in my 2000. They found that the sunroof was not draining properly. Have them check that.

WoW! Just recently I have been experiencing the same water problems too. Every time it rains there is a ton of water on my drivers side floor. Even weirder I have been having the same issues with my fog lights shorting after a good rain. Is there something I can do myself to fix this problem or should I take it to the *dealer*

I think it might be in the door, because I covered it the other day during the rain and had minimal leak. All of this information however will give me a lot to talk to the dealer about when I take it in this Friday. I don't post much, but use a lot of the information I find here so thanks everyone and I will use this information to my advantage.

If your fog lights are shorting after rain, that means water went into the fusebox. I would say another bad sunroof glass.

How can the glass of the sunroof be bad? Wouldn't it be a seal problem? Unless the glass itself is cracked, which would be visible.

If the glass is not made to correct size, it does not seal right.

Now what am I supposed to do? I'm gonna have to go to the Pontiac Garage and see what they're gonna charge me to fix it. Have any of you had to pay to get this fixed. Stupid 47,000 miles.

If you check in the warranty and TSB forum, you should be able to find the TSB on the water leak issue. "General Waterleak Diagnosis Guide #01-08-57-007 " I had my Grand Am in 4 times at two dealers to fix the water leaks. There is a water dam behind the door. This is just a plastic bag taped to the framework. This might be bad allowing water to run in. Also the issue with the sunroof may not necessarily be a bad seal with the glass or gasket, but it may be the drain tubes around the framework. Open your sunroof and look at the front corners and you'll see two straw like openings. This drains the water down the pillar to run out at the door frame. When taking it in, also have the dealer check the speaker cables going through the door. This is where my leak was and it took the dealer where i purchased the car to fix the issue. You are from Attleboro, I am from Mansfield, try taking it to Vendetti Motors in Franklin off exit 17 on 495 North. Very knowledgable service dept.

This is what I did to find my leak....
Place a couple towels on your roof.
Lay a garden hose across the towels.
Turn the hose on about halfway so you have a good stream of water.
Get in the car and start poking around the carpet, door frame, sunroof glass, etc.
Eventually you should find a trickle (or more) of water and you will then know where it's coming from. This is what the dealer will end up doing most likely so try it yourself first. No point in paying for it if you don't have to.
If you think it's coming from the door jamb, get some brown paper bags and wedge them into your A pillars. If water is getting past the seal it will hit the bag and the bag will act like a wick soaking up the water. It will also turn dark brown showing you where it's coming in at. Good luck.

I had the same problem...took it to the dealer a few times, but they could never see the problem. Soooo.. I just waited until a heavy rain, then drove my car right to the dealer and showed them the water was leaking in the door seal. The dealer just "resealed" the plastic shield shown below.
If the water is coming from the door seal, it's from the BLACK sealant you see around the plastic water shield. I put new 6.5 Inch speakers in each door so while I had the door apart I made sure that the plastic water shield was sealed all around the door. So if your car is out of warranty and you don't want to pay for shop time, and have some time of your own this is an easy fix.
This problem could also be your sunroof, but you should be able to tell by where the water is at (mine was in the passenger front and rear floor) 2 door coupe.

Just got my car back from the dealer, they replaced the drains in the sunroof and also replaced the fuse box.
It is raining today, so I will have to check it out later.
Thanks everyone for the assistance......
