I have an 02 SE with the 2.2 Ecotec. Will the Ram Air ducting from a GT work to replace my stock ducting and airbox? Are there any other mods that need to be done to allow for the full ram air effect, if there is any? Does anyone have the part numbers for the pieces?
Thanks.

The ram air setup will only work on the 3.4L SE's. Even if it did work for the 2.2, you would still be better off getting a CAI. Search the boards and you should find plenty

Does anyone have a pic of the stock ram air intake?

I recently got the K&N filter which is the same part number as the V6, so I figured it was the same intake. How does it differ?

The stock ramair will hook up to your car just fine. It has been done on the 2.4L. Just buy all the parts and connect your stock 2.2L piping to the ramair box. Easy as that.

Well, which is it? Will it work or not?
I understand the difference between the ram air and the cai, and that the gains would be bigger with a cai... but, I do not want a cai. I like the way the factory ram air looks much better, and I haven't seen any good looking CAI's for the ecotect yet. They all look like botched civic intakes.
Any one looking to sell their ram air intake? :)

It WILL work. I gave you the answer you are looking for. I too will not waste my time with a cold air intake. You got your answer.

how is it wasting your time by getting a cai?

maybe he is referring to all the people that have had their cone soaked in water, or the fact that you have to clean it more regularly, or the fact you have to take half your car apart to install it and again to clean it. Who knows?

Jagey summed it up quite nicely. The hassle and the risk aren't worth the gains. The guy asked if the stock ramair would fit. Some people don't like nor want CAI (myself included), so let's accept that and quit praising and pushing them on everyone.

well lets see here. if you get an apoc with a k&n filter, you dont half to take half your car apart, only about 1% of people have had it soaked and had trouble, and rarely have to clean it. so, there is not much hassle nor much risk, but i guess some people only look at what could go wrong and never at the positive things

Actually, the instructions for APOC still require you to remove the battery and fenderwell and the tires and jack it up and a bunch of things. A K&N filter isn't invincible, you still have to clean it, especially when it is more exposed to the elements like at the end of a big tube. Also, 1 percent of people experiencing soakage is a horrible estimate, have you read any of the threads on people getting their cones soaked? There are tons. And that doesn't include the people that are too afraid to post their soak stories because people will yell at them to do a search. And you can't even stop at the water soaked people, you have to then look at the people who have their cars getting screwed up because of the new air mixtures. I'm with Filter, too much risk and annoyance for the gains.

u dont have to remove the battery. and of course you are going to have to do a couple things to put on the cai, thats the same thing with most mods. and ya several people post their problems so it seems like a bunch have problems, but all the people who dont have problems dont post something saying, "hey, i dont have any problems with my apoc cai". its only the few people with problems that actually post
