That's lame if the MI guys don't show... I mean come on. You guys have to spend $65 and that's it. The rest of us are spending like $300-700 for GAS, FOOD, LODGING, etc. You guys can go home after a long day and sleep in your own bed. Hell, some people are driving like 12 or more hours to go, and you guys live an hour away...

Not trying to be a jerk, but come on.

Gotta refute that comment, Mike :D

Yes, I can understand we're in the same state, its not even far away. But don't drive 12 hours just for us! You're driving this distance for the event. No one is forcing you--thus, you can't hold it against us. I, however, will be making it regardless. But I can understand where you're coming from. And on the contrast..I live 30 minutes away, yet i'm still renting a hotel room and staying the entire 4 days..so I'm not sleeping in my own bed.

No, I'm not saying we're driving 12 hours to see MI peeps... We're going for the event. I'm just saying people are willing to drive 4-12+ hours just to go, and the people who live in the back yard don't seem to think it's anythign special.

I'm not saying everyone, but some are like that. I am only driving 6-8 hours to get there, and the hour comment was just a generalization

Umm may be some us have previous family engagements or are expecting personal things to get in the way. So Stuff It. Just because its in our state doesn't mean the world stands still here. Just like the rest of the world, we too have lives that are filled up with more then just a car. But I am not trying to be a jerk:rolleyes:

Well if you have other plans made already fine, but if you're just sitting on your ass doing nothing then why not show up? I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. It'd be stupid to break plans if you already have them. Duh.

Thanks for being so nice, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Trust me. There isn't anyone in MI that isn't going cause they're lazy and don't feel like it. We've been advertising and preachin it to everyone, but people do have previous arrangements, regardless of the fact that its the same time as last year. I'm not tryin to fight, lol i'm going..

Just saying, thats all.

alot of us 2krucial members are making the trip 2gether but i dont know about paying $100 for me and my girl to get some food and a shirt. we all will be comming its just most of us will be using the money to put towards the trip and or our cars. if its the charity thing your stressin than im sure we can get some money put together but we arent going to register. last year our club was separated from the rest of the pack because we werent registered but we certainly gave the show some life when we pulled up. we were only 6 deep last year this year im bringing 12 or more with me and alot more mods this year. we cant wait. maybe this time there wont be as much separation. and a little more respect givin by the people running the show. maybe some appreciation.

2krucial is very excited and cant wait for the picinic, everyone is pushing for that date for there cars to be done. we will have a great time.

Those who registered SHOULD get first priority for all things such as parking. IF those who did not register don't have a place to park with the registered group, too bad, so sad, IMHO. Those who register are the only ones eligible for the awards also. If you want a chance to win something or a guaranteed spot to park next to the entire group, register.....

hey peeps 1st of all untwist your pantys 2nd i think your missing 2k's point here. were not bitching about the parking space and be seperated i don't see that anywhere or were does josh talk about who had first dips we all know registered people get first shot at the spots . not only that did josh not just say we could try and put some money together to donate since this is a CHARITY event. we as 2k know that those who don't register don't get the awards and what not. besides this is a grand am community event and the idea behind it is to have FUN and raise a lil cash for CHARITY.

Then maybe I am missing something by him saying he would like more respect by the people running the show and not having as much separation and some appreciation...

My panties are not in a twist either. If you guys want to come out, great! I can't wait to see some of the cars again, but the post he made sounded like he was whining about not getting the advantages of the registered folks even though none of the 6 registered. Makes no sense to me I guess. Maybe I am missing something.

The best way to stop the separation is for you guys to register and spend the weekend visiting with the other members from outside the Michigan area so the other members actually get to know you. Also, I think you guys should try to get there a little ealier to the show this year. IIRC, you guys rolled in a good ways into the start of the event. IMO, it made it seem like you guys didn't care to participate in teh show, just to come check out some rides.

Either way, I look forward to seeing all the cars. If I am making the trip from Texas, you guys can make the trip from your doorstep to your backyard :D

Whats up?? yeah I can't wait for the picnic, it'll be my first. It'll be cool to see all those grandams at once and to finally see everyone who posts here on this site. The reason why we don't register, is because most people in the group can't afford or are unable to take all that time off work, and we as 2k stay together as a group, its an all or none thing with us. So we decide to go down on saturday when all of us can make it together.

Theres no disrespect for people running the event at all, just were trying to play the cards we've been dealt as best as possible.

Can't register this year because of work, but I'll definitely be there to see all the G/A's and mods, and to show off a few of my own. All in all, registered or unregistered, lets have a good time. It's not only a Grand Am Picnic, its kind of a family reunion too.

I can totally understand you guys. I've missed the last two years because of work. This year I just planned ahead early and got the money and the time off in advance because it was important to me to be there. I think what peeps was saying is if you don't go the extra trouble like everyone else don't expect the same advantages as them, but there definitly shouldn't be any ill feelings towards you because of your circumstances. You can bet I won't be dissin' ya. I'll be showin' the love, grand am style.
