How hard is it to replace it yourself?
I think I screwed up the motors. I turned on the wipers but since there was ice on windshield, the wipers couldn't move, although the motors kept on trying to move it. I think the motors got worn out or something, because ever since then, wipers don't move smoothly. They vibrate a lot. Ya, I am retarded.

Maybe it could be covered under warranty?

Check the nut that holds on the windshield wiper arms. I can't remember which cars usually do it, but during the winter we get cars all the time that people did the same thing you did and the arms are designed to have the nuts back off instead of bending the wiper transmission. Just a thought. Good luck wit teh fix.

It could be just the wiper blades that need replacing, I know I always turn my wipers on when there is snow and ice on them, alot of times when I got off work in the winter time I would fire her right up and throw the wipers on #2 the fastest setting.

Ya, but my wipers were stuck for like 5 minutes when I was driving. I had to pull over to scrape the ice off. I don't think I need new blades since my car is only 15 monthes old. If I do, Pontiac must use cheapest parts!!!!!!

The blades are very very flimsy. When i was taking my blade off i cracked a tiny piece on it, and now it causes the blade that i removed to move in a jerky motion. Definately cheap blade materials, change the blade before doing anything with the wiper motor.

I don't think it's the wipers -
I have this same problem, I think there was a thread about spastic wipers somewhere...

I hate bad wipers... drive me crazy. I "invested" in some Bosch wipers. They have a couple different ones, and I bought their best. I think they were $25 for the pair (arms and blades)... I hope they last. So far so good as I have had them for about 8 months.
