bug & tar remover, got it right out - it kills the wax im gonna try to use it on the black rubber around the windows - anyway, i had a log of wax on the trunk lock and it looked bad...
so what i did was put some bug and tar remover on a rag, applied the cap sized area over the entire lock and just rotated once counter clock wise (...)... it all came off no wax at all - beautiful ... then i put some on a q tip and got some areas that were bugging me that had wax sticking it it...
...next adventure is trying chip stick & liquid wax to get rid of a keying mark that i know wont work

Dude you're a lifesaver!!! My badges have have been gunked up for years!!! Check back in a couple days to make sure it's totally gone. Thanks for the tip. You also said you used it on the rubber? It worked too? Gonna have to try that.

okay! here is how to fill the key marks...
1) DO NOT USE THE CHIPSTICK.. would you use a crayon on your car?? well this is basically the same thing
2) Get some touch up paint
3) Apply spairingly to the areas
4) Take a 1500 wet sand paper and sand very lightly over the dry touchup paint. MAKE SURE THE AREA IS WET AND SAME WITH THE PAPER.
5) If all looks pretty smooth, take a very fine polish and polish around the area to smooth it out.
6) get a good wax and go over it make sure its all nicely sealed up.
VOILA!
P.S. I was just informed of this tonite @ a car meet. Saw the results and wow! makes a big diff and you cant even tell where it was!
Good Luck!

Hey I used some touch up paint today to cover some marks from scraping my sisters car. You can't tell its there until you get real close. So if I use some wet sand paper and lighlty sand it, it will make it even less noticible? I will definately try this out.

yeah i was leary about using the chip stick, im gonna take it to a body shop and get them to touch it up - so if it looks chitty i cant yell at them... but thank you for the tip i might try it myself
thanks :)
and yeah the wax is completely gone - when i put the bug and tar remover on the trunk to get the badge remains off and i pressed hard you could see the wax dieing and coming off as a powder, so it worked beautiful on the areas the wax was, it dissolves it...

I thought I would chime in here....Be very careful sanding. It can get out of hand very quickly and turn into a real mess! I would suggest getting a product called Langka. Try www.langka.com It will make your end result pretty darn good, and it is a lot safer than sanding!
Enjoy,
Brett
