Soak the spots in Goo Gone or something like it... they should wipe off after.

bug & tar remover...
when i wash my car i do the front bumper and windshield first sorta like a presoak.....then i wash the car and do the front bumper at the end again.....it loosens the bugs up nice...i also use a bug sponge...works really good
I found that bug and tar remover messed up my wax

Bug and tar remover do stip off your wax! I have experienced this myself as a detailer back in the day. I have tried goo gone but if you leave it in the sun it will ruin your paint, this works best in the shade. The ONE thing i have had great luck with is DEGREASER yes i said degreaser! lol Any high quality degreaser will get the bugs off, i drive all over the countryside so i get a crap load of bugs and all it takes is some squirts of degreaser and then wipe them off! This is the easiest way to take those pesky 'bugs' off that front end! If you find the purple degreaser at Checkers, that works the best so far! It like disolves the bugs faster than most other degreasers! Have fun! This has to be done without a bug sponge because the bug sponges scratch your paint and wash the front end with a soap soaked mitten so you won't scratch tha bad azz GA!!

Hmm decent info I guess. I just had this issue. I just hosed it off real well and rubbed it down with a wet wash rag, and tried claying it a little. I'm not washing it now cuz its raining out, but I think I got most of it off.
Hey coupe what's your take?

I'm not too worried about that...but I'll keep it in mind.

Ya that was weird lol. Bugs are horrible on a white car, seems I didnt think that one through to good. :boogie:

altho, do bugs look "good" on any color car????
I mean you can see every little tiny thing, where as black cars or darker cars they arent very noticeable.

Believe me, I can see bugs on my car more easily than I can on my brothers white car. Not only do you have the bug and bug guts, but you see where all the ones that just grazed by and left a powder or wax behind, that stuff sucks after baking in the sun, just washing doesnt remove it.
I have been using Rain-X Bug and Tar. Spray it on and let it sit for about 5 minutes. hose it off, then wash the car, its gets most of the crap off, but some of the bigger splats that have baked in the sun a few days are hard to remove, they take a couple repeats of the bug and tar remover. The rain-x is supposed to be gental on the wax, but its hard for me to tell, I havent waxed my car in almost 2 months. After I got rearended and getting the rear end replaced, I had to wait a month before waxing it, which is just now up. Once I get a good waxing on it next weekend I might be able to tell, but then again, the bugs are starting to lighten up, so I might not need to use the remover again until next year.

I only use B&T removers if im gonna be compounding/polishing and/or waxing. B&T removers will remove everything from the paint including your wax/sealant.
If im not gonna be compounding/polishing and/or waxing then i just wash and dry as normal and then use a clay bar on the bug spots.

I use a product by Meguiars and it works pretty well. Never had too much sucess with Goo Gone. However Goo Gone worked wonders getting the leftover adhesive off when I debadged some of my Impala.

So basically what I did. Ok. Its better than it was but it still needs a real wash, but its gonna have to wait til the weekend when its warmer out.
