Bug and Tar remover? I don't know it it includes Tree sap or not. I could have sworn that's what my dad used.

Talked to a body-shop buddy of mine when this happened to me.

His answer: HOT Liquid Tide laundry detergent. Use as hot of water as you can stand, and it will go away....but so will any wax/polish you have.

Never use detergent on your car! Try distilled white vinegar. Immediately after use a good polish and then wax. Hope it works. If the sap was left on a long time, you may have trouble.

Yup...this worked for me too. Made by Turtle Wax, and it's in a black spray bottle. It says to spray on area and let sit for a minute, but for sap, let it sit another minute or so.

I'm bringing it with me to Carlisle, so if you wanna wait till then, Kristi, you are more than welcome to borrow it.

Something I use is a little gas line antifreeze on a cloth, same type of cloth you'd use to remove wax. Works everytime and does not damage the paint.
