Ok well I want to install my stereo neons to the cars dimmer relay. They are runnin gof the acc turn on right now, so they are on when the car is on. no biggie they are in the trunk. Anyway The new install calls for some neons to be in the cab area, so I do not want them on all the time. I hate switches, an dlike to have everything automatic. So, my alarm has a relay that taps into those lights in the floor for my domelight survaliance (or whatever they did that for). I want to tap the light on the other side of the car (or behind the adjustable dimmer switch itself) to control these neons.
They are only like 1 or 2 amps so I see no fuse or replay problems, but will this variable (dimming) voltage cause any problems with the neons? Will they work off that type of voltage? O do I need to run a reply with a constant 12V power and use that dimmer wire as the turn on lead to the relay? Obviously I would like to run less wires if it will work.
So what do you think? If a good idea should I tap the light or behind the switch (where my gauges tap in)? Just wondering.
I am not sure if they are on negative or positive replays too. I know the floor is a positive relay. The Clifford online guide said my car had a negative relay so they had to wire up some speical relays to connect the alarm to that part, and when they were all done it did not work, so they tested it and Oops on clifford it was a +. lol
Anyway?
Thanks!
