I just pulled off my stock spoiler and out on my new SC/T spoiler...I can still see a slight ring where the stock one was, and one have any ideas on how to get this out..I have a black GT and would prefer not to have to use compound...

Try a claybar, and if that doesn't work try some bug and tar remover and/or a pre-wax prep.... Something that will get rid of wax buildup and/or any other contaminents. If that doesn't work I don't know if there is much more you can do. It's very possible that the paint has faded. Do you wax/polish your car?

Just run over it with a highspeed buffer with some Superfine compound. I'm sure the body shop will do it there in like 2 minutes for you.

I wouldn't take a compound to it...

I cannot stress this enough...DO NOT USE COMPOUND unless you are VERY skilled with a buffer and/or car care products. You will be very sorry!

If it looks like a stain then your paint more than likely has faded!!!Is it brighter in the area where the old spoiler used to be? If so then your paint has definately faded...

I used just a little superfine compound and a rag as a test..It took it right out...I'll stay away from the buffer and use a little old fashion elbow greese...
