Has anyone had problems with front end vibration on their 03 GAGT? After sitting overnight, my GT has a vibration in it starting at about 40 MPH. After driving about 3 miles, the vibration decreases but does not entirely go away. I took it to the dealer and they said that the tires (RSAs) are developing a "profile" overnight and take time to smooth out in the morning. They also said that the front tire balance was off a little and rebalanced them. All this did was make the initial vibration in the morning worse and shifted the vibration to 45-55 mph after driving for a while.

Also, after the dealer worked on it I now notice a cracking noise in the suspension when turning hard left or right under moderate speed! I had a 2000 Cavalier Z24 that I went through hell with regarding front end noises. I really dread getting into that again!
Anyone have similar problems?

Make them do a "road force balance". If they don't have the equipment, take it to a dealer that can. This type of balance puts a load on the tire with a roller and simulates what your tire would see on the road. They will be able to tell if any of the tires are defective and replace them.

I had the same problem you had with my tires and the road force balance definitely helped out.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply and idea! No one else has had this problem??

It seems like every time I buy a GM product, I wind up with an uncommon problem (and believe me I've bought a few).

Follow up: My 03 GAGT is at the shop again for the vibration. It is getting worse in the mornings and often does not go completely away. The vibration just seems to come and go at random times. The good news: dealer says that GM is going to replace all 4 tires!!! They feel it may be a steel belt shifting around in one or more of the tires. Anyway, GM said not to screw around with it and just replace all four! Should be in tomorrow or Thursday. I'll let you know if that fixes the problem. Maybe this will restore my faith in GM?
