Smog Legal in California

Does anyone here from California have a SC, headers and aluminum heads? If so (or any one of the 3), how do you get the thing smogged?

We need to discuss the car mods vs. old cars that polute. I was part of the original petition signers that helped raise our speed limits from 55 to whatever they are today around the country (we intended unlimited daylight speed).

Perhaps we could use this forum and link to many others (even for those d****d ricers, minis, lowriders and any others. I hate trying to work on my car and then Big Brother snoops under my hood and says, "neet but you can't do that."

Yeah, the whole cali smog crap is so rediculous. I mean it's just a freakin' sticker right?? And there is a premium for the sticker too right?? That's just wrong. I bet that other parts will do the same thing as the smog approved ones. The only thing I can understand is people that do stupid stuff like take off the Cat., but cars get tested for emissions there anyway so that shouldn't be an issue. Those approved parts have no place in cars and government shouldn't be able to regulate your private property like that. As long as ur car gets inspected and passes, you should be ok.

That is what I do not understand. It is your car, if it passes the regulations why should it matter what you have under the hood. If I lived in cali, i'd just register my car in another state under a relatives name so I could skip that crap.

TOG headers are CARB approved and come with the sticker.
also they are made right in cali!

Well, there is one thing I can get.

Do you know whether if I get the aluminum heads if I can still pass smog? Do they check for aluminum heads?

It doesnt matter what heads you have on your car the smog dude wont be able to tell aftermarket from stock. BTW your car already has aluminum heads.
