View Full Version : Anyone with SLP exhaust in my area?

I'm so frustrated over this exhaust stuff. I've heard Flowmaster and Borla in person. My original intent was Borla, but its just so damn expensive and I'd never hear it with the subs!

So I'm looking for someone in the Plymouth/Canton/Livonia/Westland area that will let me go for a ride in the car and maybe even let me drive it so I can see the exhaust note differences. I personally love the sound of my intake, and don't want an exhaust that is too loud or raspy.

Also, I will be changing the tips on the SLP to Borla or some other tips cause I do not like the SLP tips. Any ideas?

Mike, Call me at 248-854-0398.

You are welcome to drive it ... you could even be the first to drive it since the RSM heads! ;-)

Dude didn't you hear the two SLP's while you were at MGM? I figured for sure you almost had to have!

The two black GT's have SLP, SC/T Girl has SLP and I have catless SLP. Her's sounds good and mine is kinda raspy and annoying, but louder. <-- HAHA I have her beat on something. :boogie:

Mike, Borla is expensive for a reason.. you're buying a great exhaust system made of t-304 stainless steel.. it will look great for years. plus you also get the million mile warranty... As for the slp it is a bit raspy.. but i gotta admit the slp and test pipe on irate's car sounded awesome! so either way i think you'll be happy. good luck

I have been talking with Mike and I have a borla catback exhaust, but the way it appears is he really does not need the borla. The slp or a flowmaster would probably suit him well. With the subs in his truck, he would never hear the borla to begin with and for the money being spent on it, you would want to hear it. I was looking at the situation when I spoke with him as an unbiased opinion on the subject. I love the borla on my car and it suits me to a tee, but I can see it may not be the best for everyone's situation.:)

Cool Craig, how's it runnin since you got the heads?

You're right, Chris W. I heard the two SLP's there at MGM now that I think about it...I still want to hear it inside the car and outside.

Chris (silver), I know what you're sayin. I was so definate on getting the Borla, but all these expensive purchases are piling ontop of me at once. I really don't want too loud of an exhaust thats going to cause a drone on TOP of the bass from the subs. I figured the Borla would be nice even though I couldn't hear it, the performance increase was still there. Have you had a problem with your Borla fitting with the SC/T Kit?

The Borla is really close to the sc/t rear.. i'm gonna look at it thursday if i have time and see what can be done.

BTW another thing to think about.. I see you have TOG headers on your future mods.. TOG headers + SLP =

Yeah, i'm glad i'm waiting till I have the kit on before I get my exhaust.

If I got SLP, i'd be changing the tips to Borla tips, and at that point, i'd already be at the price of Borla. Might as well just get Borla then.

SLP would be loud with Headers too...that might be nasty hehe..Borla with headers, much better..

We could test that out Mike, just buy the headers, we'll install them on my car and see how it sounds;)

Want to?? I'll order them right now! :D Then you pay me for the headers cause I'm not taking them off your car, and i'll order a set of my own.

It runs GREAT! Pulls really hard from 3000 RPM to redline. On the freeway from 80MPH, it pulled smooth & consistently to 120MPH when I let off of it. I have my official dyno appointment Friday evening. I'll scan the graph and post the results on the board and my website.

I'm definitely a happy camper now! Now if I could just find a good run ...

Mike, Brendon and I went to taco bell this saturday when he was at Alex's show and the SLP sounds GREAT!! If you put borla tips on it I think you would be very happy (the sound seems like it fits the description of what you want yours to sound like)

Yeah but by the time I spend all that, I could have bought Borla. I'm stickin with my original plan with Borla.

I have the SLP and am out in Canton sometimes cuz I have friends out there. If you decide that you want to hear the SLP still we can prolly meet up somewhere in the next couple of weeks.
