well thursday i was driving home from work and then suddenly a loud 'knocking' nosie came from the engine. i get home, check belts and hoses and everything. seems fine. check plugs and everything. those fine too. i take it to 4 different engine shops and all of them say 'its a rod..' and im like 'fudge..'.

:(

well the warranty on this car is gone and i was pretty bummed out about it. today i call the dealer i bought it from about 3 weeks ago and he says 'well theres not much i can do about it..'

yea i was pretty ****ing ****ed. i call him back to yell at him, but instead he brings up a good solution. i buy a 2 year extended warranty for $700 and claim the engine under it. along with the air conditioning that just died. thats where the good news starts :) im getting a new engine, new air conditioning, new drivers side door, and prolly a new tranny (just cuz i want a new one), all for $700 :)

YEEHAW!! basically what i have learned is that never give up when all seems lost haha.

o yea, this is a 97 ga gt 5-speed. the 2.4l engines cost like $1700 so i think im getting a hell of a steal! new air conditioning cost $700 dollars for god sakes! woohoo! i only paid $2700 for this car too.. so im getting a brand new one pretty much for $3400. personally, i think this is a great deal.

the warranty is through the dealer/factory. he has some way of buying warranties for his cars that he can use to help sell his vehicles. and since hes a family friend he is getting us a warranty, as it was his own car on the lot. he feels real bad that we got a lemon, but o well. im gettin a new car so its all good :)

yes everything is covered, well everything mechanical.

Thats great man....

You know that they could always help you out like that, it all depends on what kind of person it is. He could have told you that you had to purchase the warranty the day you purchased the car (which is what they would do around here) and you would have been screwed.

He did you a real favor, but then again, he sold you a lemon...lol
