What features do you want? MP3? Satellite Radio feature? DIN size??? POP n POP audio? Lots of stuff you can get for that price range.

yea sorry bout that, i should been more specific. i just want a good sounding cd player. simple, able to run subs and amps off, clear sound, better than stock, and so i can play Cd-R's. i hope this can help sum. DIN doenst matter to me. also if it were red, it would b a plus but not a must.

Obviously, there are a lot of experiences on this board since I doubt if most here are still using their factory units. In the meantime, you might try digging around at http://www.crutchfield.com. That site has a lot of excellent thumbnail descriptions of units and good photo descriptions.

I have had good luck with Sony and since they sell to everyone you are bound to find a deal.

I love my $500 eclipse but I am about to send it back for the second time but hey thats what 3 year warantys are for:D

that pioneer 6400 is a good one. just got it from ebay for 199. it took me about 10 mins to install too. very, very good for the money.

pioneer 4400 is my head unit, it is fine for any aftermarket hookup your doing, with mosfet 50x4 that is enough to power most aftermarket speakers excluding sub's. and the EQ options are REALLY percision for the money, it was only 169.99 scratch and dent from crutchfield and i cant find a scratch or dent on it. so i am very pleased.

pioneer and alpine have the highest wattage output of most any HU so either one of them is fine, the pioneer is so much prettier and it matches my green machine ;)
