well i just finished zainoing my car....Z1,Z5 and Z6. The car looks great but i dont think i did it right. First off the Z1 was like putting on water....I shook the bottle as much as i could but it was still like water.
The next thing was i bought the the sponge applicator for the Z5 which came in really handy...Only thing is i think i used too much Z5. How much should i use?....i put a line on the sponge after every panel pretty much. Put the Z6 didnt shine up my car as much as i thought...it was lacking...there were marks left behind (i didnt use much at all)
Last thing, how do i get all the left over Zaino out of all the small areas? there is white crap left all the little grooves and badging and little areas hard to reach.
Ill put up some pics after i scan them....result was really nice, but not AMAZING!
thanks:(

OK....Zaino need to be put on SUPER thin....I mean, so you can bearly see it! Z-1 is supposed to be really thin, so don't worry. You are going to have to perfect your technique, and it does take time. For removing Zanio from cracks and such, I suggest a VERY soft toothbrush. Let me know if I can do anything else!

how thin is thin?
im used to puttin on Mother's wax so this whole "thin" angle is new to me. Plus i used some 100% cotton towels (kinda old( and there was white crap everywhere!!!
i dont think it was lint, i think it was the wax i took off. How do i avoid this?
Any tips on how to effectivly use Z6?

I can't really describe thin...I guess so you can't even really see the product on the car. As far as the white stuff, it sounds like it wasn't dry. Z-6 should be used in very small amounts, as a little goes a long way.
Good luck!

Thin is thin, trust me!!! I still put a lot on, and I try to do it so where it doesn't look like I put any on at all.
The white stuff is not wax because A) Zaino isn't a wax and B) Zaino leaves no residue like that. It's just the fibers of the towel. My car was litterec with the little buggers.
Z6 will not remove all of the Zaino if it's still piled on there, how do I know? Because I always have a lot of polish on my hood and roof and you can still see it. I would say let it sit for about 30 min. to an hour and then try using it again. Use EVERYTHING very sparingly.
Z1 is very watery and you have to shake it up constantly! Same with Z5, I have to shake the bottle every couple of minutes.
As for the shine, it basically is making it shinier by taking off the leftover polish and bringing out the color more. Also, don't expect spectacular results from one or two coats. Mine is looking better and better with each coat, but that's just me. You said you think Zaino smells like crap, and well you're the only person I know that doesn't like it so... it's possible that you're very picky and will never be happy with the shine because of all the hype Zaino gets. You have to remember, to each their own :) Everyones opinion and views are different.

Zaino does leave residue....Trust me ;) It isn't always visable at first, but it does leave traces of stuff!

You're right Brett, I guess if you pile it on there will be, becuase quite frankly I think that's part of the reason why the "wax" buildup keeps coming back. But, if you do it right, there shouldn't be any residue left at all, because the towel will pick it all up and nothing will be left on the surface.

I might have put on alot....ill try and put less next coat.
thanks guys
As far as the Zaino smelling bad...no one in their right MIND would ever think Z1 or Z5 smells good enough to drink. Z5 looks like vomit for crying out loud!
As for the Z6 smell...i can see how someone who likes grape soda might love them smell....Z6 isnt a bad smell at all.
I have had the same bottle of Z5 since October of 2001, and it is still half full... everytime I use Zaino, I put at least 2 coats on. I have clayed my car 2 times and generally put 3+ coats on each time I do that.
Once the first coat is on, and your applicator is damp with polish, you can do a whole door section with only a drop or two. I consider a section like half the door on a 4 door. The top (above the molding) is one, and the molding is another.
