What kind of polish should I use if i only want to do like one or 2 coats and still have a very nice shine. I am going to wash with dawn and claybar 1st, but what is good to use (Turtle Wax Aint cuttin it). I know everyone here likes zaino, but who has time to put on that many things, I just want a simple nice, long lasting shine. Maybe meguairs? thanks.

Zymol... Buy it at Walmart, Pep Boys, Auto Zone, etc. It's the blue bottled stuff, costs like $12-15

I bought MeGuiars Gold Class liquid wax before buying Zaino and I hated it.

PITA to get off, and it left a brown haze on my black car that only could be removed with detail spray. I emailed them several times thinking I used it wrong, and I ended up asking for a refund. They didn't stand behind their product.

You don't have to put multiple coats on with Zaino, but the more you do the better it looks, and the result is addicting :)

Meguiars Gold class... best stuff i've ever used. Zaino is over rated....IMO you just have to know how to use wax correctly.

I've used Maguires and hated it, used Zymol on my cousins car and it was much better. It's greats stuff, goes on easy, comes off easy, leaves a nice shine and has a swirl removed built in it. If I didn't use Zaino, then Zymol would be my second choice.

Ok I splurged and got me a mother's claybar kit and a big bottle of zymol. The old man at autozone (who collects old cars so i listened, gave me a tip)
He said to put it on side to side, not in a circular motion, then wipe it off. After that he sayed, spray a light mist of cool water on the waxed part and buff. He said it looks so sharp ull cut urself, lol. He also said its one of the best waxes hes ever seen.

Ima do this tommorow, so ill let yah know how it turned out.

zymol is good stuff I've seen it in person on RAMAIR1's car. Meguiar's is nice for a little while, but like any wax, disappears fast. Zaino with zymol in a close second... merely for the time the shine lasts all the way.

Saccus.. proper application.. front to back on any part of the car that faces up.... up and down on the sides of the car. will keep from swirls appearing. don't use circular motions

Like Seth said, On top surfaces (trunk lid, roof, hood, etc.) go front to back. On verticle serfaces (doors, bumpers, etc.) go up and down...

As for the Maguires, I agree with Seth. I had two coats of Zaino on my car, applied late October/early November. Washed 3 times, with road salt caked on the car for weeks on end... Finally got around to putting more Zaino on in late March/early April, and there was still some Zaino left over.. I'd love to see Maguires do that :)

Why question the results between Mcquires Gold Class and Zymol because Gold Class is a wax and Zymol is a polish?? Of course one will look better than the other and one will protect better than the other...perhaps using both (which I plan to do) will give the best of both worlds.
I know last year I used Zymol and Eagle One paste wax and the results were terrific.
