Looks like it may be too close to the sidewall for repair.....

Nah... They will be able to plug it... If not ride around on the spare, and get DOT to pay for a brand new tire :-D

That looks like a pretty big hole. I picked up a balance weight in the street somewhere... right in the middle of the tread and they couldn't plug it. I got stuck 2 hours away from home that night... all the garages in town closed at 5... called for tow @ 4:45. Intrax+spare=useless

Well I have good news....the tire is fixed...BUT I still want a new tire and i will be sending the estimate to the company responsible today...

I learned that the object stuck in my tire is a staple used to hold ground cables to telephone poles

Why get a new tire? It's fixed. I had two tires fixed when I had my RSA's never once caused a problem. They were just like new.

I dont trust patches, plus these are low profile tires and they cost an arm and a leg...the two holes are VERY noticeable when you look at the tire

About a month ago, I got my stock RSA's patched about 3 hrs. before I went to the track for test n tune. Held up fine. My stock RSA's got a lot of patches and held up perfectly.

I would get a new tire just for the fact that you know your expensive tire has two giant blemishes on it that aren't your fault.
