Friday May 23 Redline Motorsoprts meet

The guys over at Redline Motorsports hold weekly meets at 11 Mile & Inkster in Southfield on Friday nights.....(Behind the 7-11) I spoke to them and they said they want to get as many people coming out to their meets as possible. They have a lot that hold over 200 cars reserved every Friday night.......If anyone wants to break away from the "Grand Am Only" meets and see some cool cars (Import and domestic) Post up...

Their meets start at 8 pm....I'm going to get there around 9 with a couple other GA buddies from around Metro Detroit. Anyone from GAGT.com wanna come out?

Straight from the folks at Redline:

It has started! We have been able to establish the first of three "Safe Havens" for all of us car freaks to get together on a weekly basis. As mentioned, this will be the first of hopefully three locations around the Detroit Metro area that we can all meet (regardless of race, color, creed, club, or online community) to keep the scene tight. The location is a well lit business complex parking lot behind the 7-11 on the corner of 11 mile and Inkster and is large enough to accomidate over 200 cars.

There are rules, however (there always are):
The area has at least two "speed traps" courtesy of Southfield Police, so watch your speed and drive responsibly. After all, it is revenue for them...but after speaking with a few police officers "on the beat", they dont have too much of a problem with this as long as we remain respectful to the surroundings.

Spinning tires and loud music will only jeopardise the location, so why risk it?

There is a full service 7-11 on the corner that can accomidate your food and beverage needs.

I might roll on by depending on the weather, its suppose to rain. I wanna see all the cool imports, especially RSX type S's :D I know exactly where thats at too.

I think inkster is closed to the south of 11 mile, just a heads up!

Chris, hehe, yeah most of them have "ricers" but not all. And its opened to everyone regardless of what kinda car you have.

If you call 11 sec. S2000's ricey....:rolleyes: They have a lot of nice cars....and the meet isn't just their club...Its people from all over. I was looking at their message boards and there are dudes coming in from all over for this meet. K-zoo, G.R., Sounds like its pretty big!

I know they have these meets EVERY Friday too. And Saturdays, people meet up at Hall Rd and Mound, not sure which lot tho. They seem like pretty cool peeps too, just gotta get use to the variety of differant cars, besides just all GAs.

No but seriously...There are guys from the "lowride" scene that go, real import tuners, Domestic muscle, and of course some import posers (ricers) but Its always fun to see modded cars. I can respect almost all modded car wether it be cosmetic or HP:thumbs:

Personally I have no beef with the import world. I love to see modded cars and frankly I am jealous of them because there is so much aftermarket for their cars. Their dealerships back them and don't hastle them like a lot of domestic dealers do. Chances are I will be switching over within the next year or so.

I don't have a cell phone, I hate them. So if I am out and decide to go, no communication device. I might not bring the Grand Am anyways, either the Mustang GT or possibly the Focus!

I heard about these meets. I probably won't be able to make one until next month though. Busy working on the car in preparation for the street dreams show. It's in pieces right now. They sound like fun though so I'll deffinitly make it to one latter.

Dry as toast in Livonia and Farmington Hills, it sprinkled around 4 o'clock and that was it. But it was a classic Grand Am showing as usual, :rolleyes: ONE.

Either way I enjoyed myself, all this crap about watch out and what not is such crap, its getting tiring reading about how import owners are crafty and watch your back. They are actually some great and fun people to hang with, which I learned first hand last night as I talked with an RSX owner and a focus owner. True automotive enthusists don't bash other car enthusists or their cars.

On another note, there was a sweet Eclipse, a couple really nice honda civics, a nice RSX type S, and a couple nice SVT Focus's. The experience was good and insured that unless I pick up another muscle car to go with the Mustang GT, then I will own an import next year, when the Grand Am warrenty is up!

Redline is one of the most respected clubs around I think. A couple of my buddies are member there and they are good people. I am in Ontario and may actually hit up a few meets with my buddy if you guys are going to start going to. I don't want to be the only GA there, lol.

After I posted "It is 4:00 and dry...I'll be there.." I've heard good things and bad things about redline. I've haven't met any of them yet so I don't want to make any judgements. I'll go down there some night for sure to check it out. Won't be this friday though 'cause of street dreams. I'll be in that show too, so make sure you guys come check it out. Should be off the hook. As for cruising gratiot after the show, sounds like fun, but I won't be there. Me and some friends are going to space (since it's so close to Cobo) for it's final night.
