If I get a wire brush and scrap all the rust off my exhust tips then sand them down with a fine grit sand paper will I get the chrome look back??

Yes, it will look slightly better. Won't be as shiny as chrome since the stock tips were never chrome to begin with. You can use chrome polish after you have done scrubbing.

If you use a wire brush and sandpaper it will tend to rust worse than before. I suggest a Brillo pad should do the trick unless the rust is really thick you might wire brush it. I would not recommend sand paper just use a Brillo pad.

Hey definately just use a brillo pad. If its real bad be prepared to use some elbow grease!!:thumbs:

S.O.S. pads are really good to take off the rust too.

actually an old school tecnique was to use ATF and some steel wool on rusted chrome, i used it and it works. i dont know why ATF but it helps!

The ATF has chemicals in it that reacts with rust and breaks it down. It leaves the metal clean. I worked in an oil refinery for a summer and some of the guys were talking about it. One of them showed me and it really works. However, I've never had to use it. Just get a regular steel wool pad with some soapy water. Grime, dirt, and anything else come right off with a little scrubbing. Looks like new. Use a little chrome polish afterwards, too...
