Was wondering if anyone knows about whether there is supposed to be rev limiters on 99+ GT's. I have the idle(park) 4000rpm limiter but have hit near the 6000rpm area in 1st, 2nd and 4th gears over the past year. It's odd because someone in town I know has a 2000 GAGT and he said he's never been near that high in any gear. A couple times in 2nd I had to back off the gas since it seemed it was going to go well into the redline area. Just wondering if we do have rev limiters how they don't kick in on my 99 GAGT.

I think the rev. limiter is 5800 or 6000 RPM when you are driving but when your out today just floor it and see if it goes past 6000 RPM if it does you have no limiter but it probably wont go past 6000 RPM. I know a couple times it seemed like that to me because of how fast the RPM gauge would move up to the 6000 mark but I had a camcorder once in hand while I floored my car and it flew to about 6k and that was it.
Trust me you DO HAVE a Rev limiter on your car !!!! Sometimes certain things canchange your car's shift points. Some mods you do to your car will make your car shift earlier or later than what is normal.
For instance, my car shifts @ 6,200--6,300 RPM......
