I was driving down a dark road when I decided to hit my high beams......They came on for one second then POOF....No lights at all....I went back to my low beams and they work fine....Here's the deal.....

Now when I have my lights ON they work fine....that is....low beams and fogs.....but when I hit the high beams instead of highs I get nothing.....I looked in my OM about what fuse may have blown but I can't find it.....

Anybody know what fuse or relay would control power going to high beams?..... If you have a service manual I would appreciate it if you looked at the pin-outs........Would one high beam filiment burning out kill the other light as well....like a series circuit?? I doubt it....

As a strange side result I have no DRL's during the day..... but no SVS light either.....

Damn high wattage bulbs!!!!:rage:

The DRL's are the high beams, just at a lower wattage. As for both going out, I don't know why that would happen, it's possible that both filaments went bad?

Check your harness and make sure it didn't start melting. I know that people with higher wattage bulbs usually fry their wiring harness.

Both harnesses would have had to burn up at the exact same time......I doubt it very much....The way they went "POOF" it felt and sounded like a fuse or relay........But I dunno......I would think there was a fuse or relay named "High Beams" but there is not:confused:

just looked at the manual.. first check all your fuses/relays, underhood.

Try hitting the flash-to-pass or the high-beam on switch.. see if that works

After that there are things to test at the connector going to the stalk.. PITA if that's broken..

Dumb question but try a different headlamp bulb, it's possible I suppose.

As for the no SVS, so far all the 03's I heard of don't light an SVS with the DRLs killed.. go ahead and yank your drl relay :)

I did check the manual and all the fuses that sounded headlight related........How can you tell if a relay is fried????

Flash to pass no workie....

I guess I'll have to dig up my stock bulbs to do some tests......

EDIT: now I'm wondering if the people who pulled relay 22 for DRL's have high beams???

Naxos 100/80 w

How can you tell if a relay is fried....I have never pulled one out....

EDIT: Just pulled Relay #22 so the DRL's will never come back....I took it apart too....crazy little buggers....not what I expected....Now if I could just get my high beams to come back on.......

I'm running some Euro 5200K 100/80w. I'm a little scared that something will go wrong. Did you ever use the brights?

Before that I had only used them for VERY brief periods to check their light displacement.

Whats funny is that of course, mine had to be the only '03 I know of that pulling the damn relay does not work on. Figures, had to put a kit on it.
