no im not talking about that line from National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
I noticed for the first time today a sound that sounds like the above when I am rolling at slow speeds. I'm not sure if it is an intake sound or maybe something going wrong. I have checked the belts and put some belt dressing on them just to make sure and still the sound is there when driving at low speeds (below 15)
Does any one know if this is a intake noise (i have a warm air intake system) I believe i heard that these cars have power steering pump problems. what would that sound like if it was it, although, the noise dosent happen if I am turning the wheel and it dosent get any louder while turning at low speeds.
I need help

What kinda filter on your WAI?
Power steering noise is more like an annoying wrrrrrrrrrrrr whine when turning.
Is it kinda like a whistling noise?
Is it happening when your on or off the gas?

Im using what I believe to be a 5inch K&N cone filter,
the noise is more like a constant belt squeal but very low pitched and constant (not pulsing or has variation in pitch)
It does occur when my foot is off the gas at speeds lower than 15 (like parking lot speeds) as far as i can tell. it either goes away at higher speeds or it gets drowned out by road and engine noise. I cant hear it with my windows up at all.
The only thing I did differently in the past two days was I had my battery unhooked for about an hour to install some strobes and I added a sub box to my trunk.

a good way to make sure its not ur belt, is to get some belt dressing, and spray down ur pulleys..if ur belt stops squeeking, then its ur belt thats causing it.

Well, i just came back from driving it again. the sound is more like a squeak squeak sound when the car is rolling and is more like a quiet hissing when the brakes are applied. Could this be some brake dust trapped some where? or is it something more major???

ok, its been a week now since I first noticed this noise. it is now going "squeak squeak squeak" when I drive at low speeds and when I press on the brake it makes a constant "squeak" like the sound a rotor makes when it has a little rust on it. I dont see any marks on the rotors like any thing is digging into them. what in the world can this be? I just had rotors replaced at 65,000 miles and I had the brake fluid flushed and replaced at the same time, my car now has 66,458 on it. I had power slots on for a year before my Dumb a** mechanic tried to resurface them and screwed them up. so he replaced the rotors for free and didnt charge me for any thing. BUT could this be my pads or a pad gone bad??? I just need advice,

I had a noise when making turns and braking .Thought it was rotors and brakes so changed and turned and noise was still there.Found out eventually that it was coming from my defective RSA tires so replaced and noise is gone. Many GA owners have had this problem so I would check in to it if you have not already.

If you're only getting the squeaks when you apply the brakes, I would investigate there. Sounds like the wear indicators on your brake pads to me. Check your pads and see if you need to replace them. I'd do that before doing anything else!
